Task Template Selection

I've been digging around to see if there's any way to procedurally create a task template upon task creation.  I have a layout I like to use for information within the task description that I'd like to standardize across all tasks I create.  Currently - I just have a few dummy tasks set up to be duplicated, re-named, and re-tagged.  It'd save me a lot of time and organizations to be able to select "Task Templates" when creating a new task.

Any ideas if this capability is already present and I'm missing it? Or anybody else in need of a similar function?

Hey Mike H, welcome to the Community!

Have you tried using Blueprints for something like this? You could create the layout in Blueprints and create the task based on this Blueprint.

Let me know if this helps!

@...,

Thanks for the response - I've been looking into Blueprints and love the concept.  But I wish you could access Blueprints from an existing project view.  The majority of tasks I create are built from a project that has been generated from a request.  I wish I could create a "New Blueprint Task" within said project view (currently if I'm not mistaken, you have to tag a project to a blueprint anyway).

With the current Blueprint workflow, I have to copy the name of the project (that was created via a request), navigate to the Blueprint menu on the left menu, Create from Blueprint, and then paste the name of the project in order for it to sort appropriately.  Being able to "Create from Blueprint" within projects would make this process more efficient.

Apologies if I'm misunderstanding something or doing something incorrectly.  This is just what I'm currently doing with the limited knowledge I have of Blueprints.

Hey Mike H🙂 Hope you don't mind me jumping in for Hugh here!

I was wondering if you've considered that a Blueprint project with tasks is created upon request submission? That way, every time someone is submitting a request, you'll have a project with the outlined tasks in it. You can also set it up to create a conditional launch of projects based on particular answers in the requests: https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003404345-Dynamic-Request-Forms#project

Please let me know if that helps!
