Sorting Custom Workflows

Is it possible to be able to Sort the order of the Custom Workflows as they appear on the drop down list?

Currently, we can only see the list in the order that the Workflow was created. We have over 20 custom workflows, if we were able to change the order or make them alphabetical. It would be faster to be able to find the workflow we need to use.

I agree. We use a similar number of custom workflows, and we're finding it cumbersome to navigate the list of workflows as it stands now.

Slightly off-topic, but related to custom workflow creation: I wish the panel on the left (see below) were retractable. I understand that it may be useful to new creators, but it consumes significant screen space and isn't as informative once you're familiar with custom workflow creation.

Hi guys, currently, there's no way to customize the list but I can definitely see how having it listed alphanumerically would be a good solution so I'll be sure to pass this post on to the Product Team for when they're reviewing this feature in the future. I'll post back if and when I have more information to share 👍

Indeed, having an option to sort workflows would be very valuable to us. Not necessarily alphanumerically, maybe even better to make it a custom "drag-and-drop" order in the admin "account management" console... just drag them left/right and that also determines the order on the drop-down list.

I'm with Blaz here, let us arrange them in whatever order makes sense from a business perspective, which more often than not is not related to the alphabetical order of the title, nor the order in which they were created.  If anything the more important or useful ones are the most recently created..

With Wrike increasing the amount of workflows for an account it gets more difficult to use them. If you have many workflows the filters etc. are difficult to use if the order of the workflows is a random one

Rather have an alphanumeric order immediately than a custom "drag-and-drop" order (which I would preferr too) in the admin account management and waiting years to get it...

I agree with Beat, it would be so helpful if we could drag-and-drop the custom workflows. We are workflow heavy instead of task heavy and with every new workflow it gets harder and harder to find.

Is there any follow up to this? It'd be very helpful to be able to organize Wrike Workflows in this manner

I am also wondering where this stands. We have many workflows and are adding more every week. It is getting very time consuming to scroll through to find what I need. Even if it is not a drag and drop option right away, alphanumerically would be a great upgrade.

Hi everyone, thank you for your continued support here 🙂 Currently there's no update; I'll get back to you when I have news about this suggestion. In case it helps someone, when I search for a specific Workflow, I use Ctrl+F: it helps to find the one quicker because I have many Workflows too 👍

When trying to apply filters, it's very inconvenient that the statuses are not in alphabetic order. It would be so much more efficient if it was!!

Thank you

@... any updates on this? Also, do you know if there's a suggestion open to add visibility rules to the workflows (similar to what exists for custom fields)?

Hey Roxane Carrier, hope you don't mind it's me 🙂 We don't have an update for changing the order of workflows at the moment.

Could you please clarify what you mean by visibility rules?

Hey Lisa, No I don't :)

I mean having control over who can see the workflows as we do for other items.
We have (too) many workflows including Workflows created from loading Wrike Templates, Tests & Drafts, it would be useful to be able to restrict access/visibility. It's getting messy and an optimal experience for Regular Users.

Let me know if it's clearer :)

Thanks a lot for clarifying Roxane Carrier 🙂

Our team is planning to release a feature that will make it easier to work with workflows soon. We can discuss this topic again when it's released, but I think it should improve your experience, including workflow visibility 🙂

Putting in my hand up for this as well, and just put in a more detailed request not for custom ordering alone but for more granular control over organising and/or visibility of Custom Workflows (https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/10161569550231-Ability-to-custom-organise-Custom-Workflows-desperately-needed)

...if that is something anyone here would also find useful to have 👊
