[Status: Launched! ๐] Adding Time on behalf of others
Is it possible to add a feature that allows Administrator to add time entries on behalf of others? We have instances where team members may have forgotten to add time before going on leave for example or the boss may be in meetings all day and we needย their time to include in a report.
A simple drop down option for Administrators to select other users in the 'Add time entry' box would be very helpful.
Adding time for other users would be extremely helpful to us! For our event management and production agency, we work with several freelancers on event days. They're not a regular part of our day-to-day business, but for our project time tracking to be accurate, we need to be able to add time for them. In an ideal world, we'd be able to assign this permission to certain users, but having it at the administrator level would be reasonable.
Hi Evan Carroll, thank you for the use case! This has been passed on to our Product team.
This is really critical in our company as we have freelancers working and I need to add their time...

Is there an updated?
I would extend this feature request to a new level: If there's a scheduled meeting for a bunch of users, wouldn't it be nice to track the time of all together? Most of our employee's don't have their personal smartphone with a wrike app in a meeting, But the leader of the meeting could track their time if they were assigned tho the corresponding task.
Hey everyone, thank you for the feedback. It's been passed on to the Product team. I don't have an update for you at the moment, but as soon as I do, I'll let you knowย ๐
We really need this as we are unable to get the Jira integration working and I have to get all hours logged each day not least for budget and delivery tracking but also for billing.ย We get paid we can afford tools like Wrike.ย Wrike I know you are thinking about this one but surely an admin level or team leader level permission could make this work easily - is this something you can simply enable?
Hey Jon Pickles, thank you for the feedback here! It's been passed on to the Product team.
I've spoken with the Product team, and they are still interested in this suggestion and are planning on implementing it. There is no ETA for this implementation at the moment, however, but as soon as I have an update for you, I'll be sure to let you know.
Add another vote for me. I am managing a sole freelancer on multiple overlapping projects and need to keep up to date with their time contributions to manage their remaining time. As they are a collaborator they are unable to add time entries themselves.
Hi Phil Tascone, thank you for sharing your use case! It's been passed on to the Product team.
Was surprised to find this wasn't possible. I've had to go through and restructure our tasks and move time entries to a different location, and I have to ask the designers to do this admin work which isn't ideal as I need them doing design.
Thank you for sharing this feedback, Austin Headley! It's been sent to the Product team.
Add another vote for me as well!
Hi Laurent Bloomquist, welcome to the Community! Thank you for sharing your input.
I really need/want this feature too!

Welcome to the Community, Ruth Oshman! Thank you for your feedback. No update about this suggestion at the moment - if there are any changes, I'll be sure to let you know.
We need this for our users!

We have run into this issue in the past, but I now am stuck because accounting needs a report and I have someone on vacation and can't update their time remotely.

Can't believe this basic feature request is coming up on 3 years old. My work around: Revert back to a spreadsheet to track people's time because I can't manually allocate others' times in Wrike.
A really need to have. Absolutely essential.
A supervisor needs the possibility to make entries. Think about illness or simple a mistake which has to be corrected for correct billing.
Hi everyone, thank you for your continued support here! The suggestion is on the team's radar with no definite plans at the moment. I'll be able to share more info here in Q1 2021. At the same time, the team is planning to introduce a possibility to track time on behalf of other users via public API in the coming weeks.ย

Yes, this can be very helpful in some cases where we need to sync invoiced hours from externals up to the project in Wrike to get correct reports.
Thank you for reaching out here, Thomas Won Nyheimย ๐

Hi Lisaย - We would also find this useful, especially if someone leaves the company and hasn't entered their hours up to date.
Agree, it would be very helpful to log in time for another user.ย

This feature is really becoming a must for our team. The ability for certain users to record time on behalf of others would be extremely helpful. Currently it is extremely difficult to attest to the accuracy and completeness of time entries in Wrike without this functionality.ย
Hi Lisa, Cansu,
Thanks for your comments, but it would be really helpful to get a clearer answer on where you guys are with this. This is adding real pain on how we manage time entries, especially now - towards the end of the month - when I need a clear and accurate picture. We are losing real money here as a company. Considering there have been holding notes for the last 3 years is getting a bit frustrating.
I do get how feature development works, but if you can give me a clearer answer on where this really sits in your priority list, then I can at least make a decision for our company where we really want to go. It might seem a small point to you, but I rather pay someone else more money for a system which works for us and go through the pain of migrating than leaving money on the table.

Hi Robert Heindl,
you could consider buying the Wrike Resource add-on (Wrike Resource โ Wrike Help Center) for better handling the timetracking. We don't have this feature, so I'm not quite familiar with it, but I think it's possibe there to edit time tracking entries of your employees. Can you confirm this, Lisa?
Hi Florian,
Thanks for your comment. We do have the Wrike Resource add-on. As far as I was able to work it out I can update time for other resources, i.e. if a task is already in the timesheet I can go in and change this entry, but I can't add new tasks/entries.
Very happy to be corrected if I am missing something!
Hi Florian Kislich, hi Robert Heindl,
it is not possible to book times for others.
You can change efforts (so the planning of time) with the ressource add-on. But the time booking is only possible for yourself.

Thsi post has now 51 likes so hopefully Wrike stays to as soon as reaching 50 upvotes it will be considered. We also need the feature.
