Bulk-Swap Task Assignees
In Wrike you can edit multiple tasks at once using Mass Editing. Mass actions can be a big time-saver. One popular scenario: You have a lot of tasks, each with multiple assignees, and you need to swap one of the assignees with someone else. Follow these steps to quickly make changes:
- Open the task list in the List View
- Click on the Mass Edit button
- Hover over one of the tasks you need to edit and check the box that appears to the left of the Task name.
- Select all other tasks which need to be reassigned.
- Click “Swap a User” on the Mass Editing panel.
- Select the user you want to unassign the tasks from.
- Select the user you want to assign the tasks to.
- Click “Reassign”.

Hi. This doesn't works on professional free trial, right?
Hi there, this should work for all account types except Free subscriptions. Can you let me know what issue you're facing? Thanks 👍
I believe I have the same problem, when I go into mass editing, I do not have all the options available, in particular I cannot assign all the tasks at once. This means I must assign one by one... My colleague however can. Why is this?
Hi Sean, can you click your profile and check that you don't have another account that you're logged into? If you click your profile image on the top right you should see 'Account' tab. Let me know how you get on.
Hello team
I am having an issue with the Mass edit options, all options within the yellow area (see screendump) disappear after a second. Tried in IE, FF and Chrome. (IE being the slowest giving me the option to make a screendump)
Also tried a private browser window in Chrome, no success.
Regards,
Peter
l.s.,
In the filter I had all 4 statuses selected. When transferring by single status I was able to transfer 'All active' and 'All on hold. The remaining 'All finished and 'All cancelled' can not be transferred.
@Peter Hi, sorry to hear you're having this issue!
Let me raise a Support ticket for you; I think this requires troubleshooting. You'll get a notification soon 🙌

I'm trying to do this with terminated Employees, and assigning their tasks back to their supervisor.
I'm not getting the check boxes beside the task. I've tried in the windows desktop app, and the website.
Is this still an option to select multiple tasks? I have all their tasks listed in a dashboard. Do i need to do this from somewhere else?
EDIT:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Figured it out. you need to open this in list view. Then click the "Mass edit" button next to the "By date" option.
Might want to sunset this post or update it.
Hi Adam Whetham, happy to see you on the Community! 🙂

Lisa It is now. Thank you!
I did end up finding out though that After I bulk moved all of the users tasks to their manager Wrike actually has that option when Deleting the user.
Maybe Wrike might want to revisit that, as I wouldn't normally try and first delete a user before I moved all their assigned tasks to someone else.
So I didn't even know there was a quicker option until I went to delete the user. If I'm deleting the user, I'm ready for them to be removed. I wouldn't expect there to be a migration tool that pops up after I click the "Delete user" option like it currently does.
Adam Whetham Good to know!
Thank you for providing feedback, I'll be passing it to the Product team.

There needs to be an undo feature. Due to lag I clicked the wrong button and mass assigned everything to myself. The edit>undo doesn't do anything so now I have to manually go through every line and reassign it.
Hello Eric Rathofer, a green pop-up bar with the Undo button will appear for a short time at the bottom of your Workspace when you use mass edit. Please let me know if that helps 🙋🏻♀️
Your video link in this article is broken.
Hi Lacy Judd, thank you for pointing that out, I'll delete it.
Are you having any challenges with mass editing?
