Discover the Exciting New Updates to Dashboards in Wrike! ๐
Angeheftet AngesagtHello Community!
We're excited to introduce the latest updates to the New Dashboards feature, one of the best tools for efficiently managing your work in Wrike! ๐ Letโs dive into all the improvements we have for you!
- ๐ Major functionality improvements
- ๐ Create, edit, and adjust within one click
๐ Major functionality improvements ๐คฉ
- Date breakdowns ๐
We're thrilled to announce the long-awaited addition of the 'Date breakdown' feature on New Dashboards. Weโve listened to your feedback on time segmentation in reports and Dashboards and we've developed and implemented the ability to segment a given time frame by day, week, month, or year in Chart-types widgets. This allows robust aggregation over your selected segmentation criteria. For example, you can now have a count of tasks in 2023 segmented by month, providing a clear view of your task progress in finer detail.
This functionality extends to date fields such as the due or completed date. This option is also available in Chart View, and we're working on improving this feature with new labels to make your reporting process even more seamless.
- Hierarchical and list view ๐
Your feedback has been essential to help us develop an option to ensure that no tasks or subtasks are overlooked in your Dashboards and now you can choose to display your items in a hierarchical view or a list view in List/Table-type widgets.
When using the hierarchical view, the subtasks will be nested under their parent task:
However, we learned from your feedback here on Community that this behavior may lead some users to overlook subtasks. If that is the case for your team, you can now use the โShow as flat listโ option, which allows you to see all the tasks (and subtasks) separate from each other.
- Table mode or List mode (or Auto mode!) โก
You can now choose how much information you need to display about your tasks when using List/Table-type widgets in New Dashboards. The table mode will allow you to choose how many columns you wish to make visible in your widgets and all the information will be displayed in a horizontal layout:
In cases where you need to see data in a compact and vertical mode - which would include only essential information about your items - you can make use of the list mode:
A third option you can benefit from is the โAuto modeโ, which automatically selects either the Table or List mode depending on the width of your screen: if the available space is enough to include all the information contained in the Table mode, this option will be selected. Otherwise, the List mode will be chosen.
- Add multiple metrics to widgets ๐จ
Apart from the option to see your data in different charts, you can now also add multiple metrics to your widgets. You can take advantage of this option when needing to compare data side-by-side in one single Chart-type widget:
This feature saves you the step of creating two or more widgets to compare, for example, how many tasks are active and how many have been completed in a specific Space, project, or folder.
- Reporting on approvals โ
New Dashboards now include a set of Chart-type widgets especially designed for reporting on approvals. In the widget builder, you can access the following options: pending, completed, or overdue approvals; and also total, max, or average approval duration:
Furthermore, you can choose to break your approvals by: status, approver and approver decision, among other options:
Another crucial addition to New Dashboards is that you can now filter approvals by: status, approver, approver decision (pending, approved, rejected), approval start, due and completion date:
๐ Create, edit, and adjust within one click
- Widgets creation and adjustments ๐
We've enhanced how you rearrange and create widgets, integrating a "+ Add widget" button available at all division lines on the dashboard. This option allows you to create a widget in a specific location, which saves you the step of rearranging it after its creation.
The new "Swap" button now allows exchanging rows, widgets, and even columns, without a glitch.ย
And the "Align" option equalizes the sizes of all widgets in a row/column within a single click, freeing you from individual resizing.
- Duplicate Widget Dashboards ๐
No more wasting time recreating similar widgets! With just a few clicks on the three-dot menu on the right side of the widget's title, you can now comfortably duplicate a dashboard widget, making those small adjustments quicker to cover any specific requirements.
- Drag and Drop Items Between Widgets โญ
Shifting items between widgets is now as simple as a drag and drop. Please, remember that for successful relocation, the task must align with the filters applied to the destination widget.
- Vertical and horizontal mode
You can now choose to see your widgets displayed in a horizontal or vertical view with the option โChange layoutโ. The vertical option is the best option for reporting and analysis, whereas the horizontal option better suits the need to create a Kanban-style board.
- Starred Tasks ๐
We've added the "Starred Tasks" to the available widgets templates in New Dashboards, making it easier for you to prioritize your important tasks.
ย
- Navigation ๐งญ
New Dashboards are available in the Tool section of the Space they belong to. Also, in the Dashboard account section you can access your classic Dashboards and upgrade them to the new experience. Once a Dashboard has been upgraded, when clicking on it it will be opened in a new window.
Currently, our Product Team is developing a new navigation experience to make it easier for all your Dashboards in one single place. More updates will be announced soon!
- Item count ๐ข
With the new item count feature, you'll instantly see how many items are listed in your Dashboard widget without having to manually count. The item count is located next to the title of the widget.
- Show/hide location ๐
Last but not least, the improved process to toggle location in tables on or off has now become more intuitive and user-friendly.
Are you already enjoying New Dashboards? Let us know in the comments below!
As usual, if you have any questions, weโre here to help ๐
We are excited about the new dashboard and all of the new features it provides. A couple of items that are missing from the old dashboard that we are hoping get added to the new dashboard -ย
1. The ability to move widgets. The layout is a start, but many times you are not creating widgets in the order you want to see them. You may want to move the last one you created to be the first one you see. It is much easier to move widgets in the old dashboards.
2. Copying a widget to another dashboard. I like the ability to duplicate a widget within a dashboard, but also would like the "copy to" feature that is currently in the old dashboard. This is very helpful when a dashboard gets too many widgets. You can copy them to a new dashboard and remove them from the crowded dashboard. Another application is being able to share a widget with another team member.ย
ย
Good job guys!
Please add also "To Do Date" filter that was in previous dashboard.
ย
Great updates. The only thing we really wish we could use that we can't currently is the Board View for our Projects.
The Board View is currently limited to showing Tasks only, but we use Projects as our main means of tracking work, as I'm sure others here do as well. Being able to see Projects broken down in buckets by their status is something we used to do on Sharepoint that we can't currently do now due to this limitation.ย
Other than that, love to see the progress being made on here.ย
Hey Kerri! Could you please elaborate on not being able to move widgets? What difficulties are you experiencing? We believe it's pretty straightforward to move them by simply dragging them into the desired location. Copying widgets across dashboards is coming pretty soon.ย
Pietro, why the combination of the Overdue checkbox and the specific time range in Due Date doesn't work for you?ย

Hi Vladimir Bugay,
To Do Date filter is useful when you have a task that start today and finish in a different date, to show in a Widget all task I've to do or start today.
Now I've to use two different widgets:
1- Due Today
2- Due this week
Hi Kerri Zollers and Pietro Poli,
if you believe we can elaborate further on a video call, feel free to get in touch with me here:

We did not speak for a while, Pietro ;) However, based on this thread:

we believed it was already solved, wasn't it?

Amazing improvements! <3
Hi Michael Minovsky,
I confirm you that 2 of 3 requests on other post are ok.
"To do" Filter is yet missing.
Do you need major explanation from me? ๐
Pietro, I believe we have discussed this earlier, but just to reconfirm. You would like to be able to see tasks that are due within a week from now? Does the start date matter to you at all?

Hi Vladimir Bugay, I need to se in my Today task Widget:
1- All task overdue
2- All task planned for today (also if start and date are different).
For example, I've 5 task:
It would be great to have in my Widget listed:
Compare new and old dashboard widgets:
OLD Dashboard
NEW Dashboard
ย
As you can see last task showed in OLD Dashboard (where Due Date is 28 of November) is not showed in NEW DASHBOARD
Hi Vladimir Bugay --
Apologies for the latency in adding to this thread, but I wanted to kip onto Pietro's comments about the "Task To Do" feature. I'm surprised the lack of this specific filter is not more discussed in this (or other threads) as it's invaluable to my team's ability to use the dashboards. In my case, the lack of the feature or a workaround is specifically prohibitive to my ability to dive further into the new dashboard UI, as I have to use the old functionality to properly complete my job.
Our primary use of the Task To Do filter is NOT the "Overdue" button, as you've mentioned in past discussions with Pietro, but rather the date specific ranges. We have a lot of tasks that vary in length for different periods of time - some for a month, some for a day, but we want them to show in the same widgets.ย
My understanding is that the Task To Do filter essentially finds any tasks whose "date range" includes the selected day/day range (most often, Today, but sometimes other date ranges are used). In our case, where we may set a date range for a month for one task and a day for another task, the filter will pull both of those tasks at the same time, even though their due dates may range 30 days apart; that being said, it WON'T pull a task thirty days from now that only elapses one total day. helping us to keep our dashboards decluttered.
The use of the start date and due date filters can't replicate this in their current state - If I want all tasks that may contain today as a day between the start date and the due date, I have no option for building this out. If the goal is to entirely remove the Task To Do filter, its functionality would at least be replicated by adding a "Before Today" option to the Start Date filter and a "After Today" option to the Due Date filter.
Happy to discuss further if clarification is needed. I'd be surprised to hear that other people won't have the same issues in the future as this tool rolls out further.
Best -
Zach
Thanks a million Zachary Caylor, we've passed this on to Vlad and he'll be back in touch shortly ๐

Hi Vladimir Bugay, thanks a lot for your update
Hi everyone,
I'm new to Wrike and I haven't been able to find an answer to the following issue: If I use the flat list option to show my tasks in the dashboard, is there a way to display the parent task for my subtasks? This would be extremly helpful because otherwise I'd need to give every subtask a unique name to know immediately what needs to be done without having to open this subtask (e.g. I have several subtasks saying "write e-mail" but without the parent task's name I wouldn't know which e-mail I need to write...).
Thanks in advance,
Julie
Hi Julie,
add Location as a column, it must show also where files are located, I know is not the same you need but It can be helpful.
Hi Pietro Poli, thanks for the suggestion. I did add location. But as you said - it's not quite as useful as the parent task's name would be.
Hi Julie, I'm sorry, but it's not possible. The only option to see the parent task is to turn on the hierarchy, which is not what you want, I guess.ย
