Project Duration in Each Workflow Status

The Workflow report provides a space level account of the duration all projects are within a given workflow status.  This suggests data exists identifying the number of days each project exists in a given state.  Our projects move back and forth between states during their lifecycle.  We would like to run a simple report that allows us to list each project and then show the number of days each project existed in each state.  Is this possible.  Are we able to pull this data?

I'm following this closely - if possible in Wrike it'd be awesome! 🤞

Our inhouse developers are currently drawing the information through a developer tool and export it into a database, which is source for a BI dashboard (some of a workaround!)

Following this as well! Trying to manage projects from multiple teams (Supply Chain, MFG, Field Service, etc.) and see which ones are the biggest movers/if they need more resources!

Hi folks! At the moment, the Workflow report remains the only way to see this information. Do I understand correctly that you'd prefer to have the same data but displayed in a regular Wrike report format?

So, there's a formula you can use in Wrike Analyze to pull this data.  I had been using it on a Bar Chart:

But was able to turn it into a Pivot Table and add the Project Names in order to see each of the projects and the time spent in each of the project workflow statuses:

If this is what you're looking for, here's the formula for the value "time in status (days)":

  • (SUM([Total Project Status Change History Time Spent (minutes)]),[Project Status Group1],[Days in Project Completion Date])/60/24/(DUPCOUNT([Project ID]), [Project Status Group1],[Days in Project Completion Date])
    • Filter the Project Status Group (both uses) to only show Completed.

Herine is this correct application of this formula when used on a Pivot table in this way?  Just checking since you're the expert 😉

Meredith Selden, this is excellent and exactly what we are seeking.  In my attempt, however, if I filter Project Status Group to only show completed I do not see all project statuses, only the Completed status.  Adding back "Active" to the Project Status Group adds all other statuses, which exist in the Project Status Group.  Further analysis looking at the pivot table, the total life of the project is posted into the column corresponding to its current status and not broken up across statuses.  It appears I'm missing a step.

Last, I'd like to understand where Wrike gets the data for [Project Completion Date].  Is the [Project Completion Date] the date the status changes to a Completed Project Status Group state?  Is it the Due Date given to a project?

Screenshot below includes [Project Completion Date] filtered to Active and Completed.  Setting to Completed removes all data but completed statuses.  Also note it appears the data shown is the number of days a project has existed, added to the column representing its current status.

Hi Meredith Selden and Chris Cashon, hope you're doing great!:)

The dimension "Project Status Group" shows only the current state of the project, same as "Project Status". If you want to show how much time was spent in a status, you need to use "Project Status Change History Old Status". I'd also like to mention that "Project Status Change History Time Spent (minutes)" shows time spent in active statuses only.

So the simplest widget structure for status duration (Pivot) would be this:

Rows: Project Name

Values: [Total Project Status Change History Time Spent (minutes)]/60/24

Columns: "Project Status Change History Old Status"

As for the Project Completion Date, it shows the date when the status of a project changed to anything from the Cancelled or Completed groups. If a project has never been completed or cancelled, it will not have a Project Completion Date.

I hope this helps!
