Request Form - Automation subtask renaming when we create a new task using a Blue Print

Hi ,

I don't know if someone is facing the same need.

I will present what we need on our project and will help us very much if this will be implemented in the Request Form.

Context :

We have a Request Form and this is creating a new task from a Blue Print .

This task from Blue Print have also others subtask .

For the Name of the Main task is easy , we have the Title in the Request Form , but the subtask are keeping the same name it has in the Blue Print and now we need to change them manualy by adding the suffix "Name of the Main Task ".

Why do we need this?

To avoid that the assigne confuse the tasks, and in this way the correct identification of the tasks will be much easier.

Need :

It would be great if this renaming of the subtasks will be done automatically when the new task is created from this Blueprint using the Request Form .

For exemple :

Rename Subtask  =   Actual Blue Print Name  + Name of  Main task

Have a great day .

We have the same need.  We have a request form which should use a blueprint to create a task.  As part of the form I'd like to be able to ask if further action is needed, and if so, generate a sub-task from a blueprint with a title change to reflect a value given by the user who completes the form.

Our use case is filing non-conformities (quality assurance deviations) for follow up review.  Sometimes there's already been a curative action taken and no further actions are necessary, but in many cases we need to generate another task to follow up on the case.

Hello Oliver Reams, thank you for sharing your use case with us. As stated in our Help Center, you can set a prefix for tasks and projects duplicated via a request. The prefix will be applied to all associated subfolders, subprojects, tasks, and subtasks upon submission, you can find the instructions on how to achieve this here.

Is that what you were looking for?

Thank you!

Hi Juan,

Unfortunately prefixes don't do it as they'll rename any and ALL subtasks with the same prefix.  I'd like to dynamically change the title of each subtask separately.  For example, if I needed to generate several follow up tasks based on the user's response, I'd like to be able to ask the user to name those tasks within the form.  The prefix is useful for grouping the tasks so they're identified with the primary task in other views.  This feature would be useful in conjunction with prefixes, not replaced by them.
