[From Wrikeโs Product Team] Feedback & Interviews: OKRs in Wrike ๐ฏ
Hi Community ๐
Iโm Mike, a Product Manager at Wrike.ย
Iโm currently researching how different teams work with OKRs in Wrike. The main areas that we are looking to gather feedback on are:
- The initial set-up of the OKR process, spaces/folders etc.
- How you measure OKR progress.
- What type of reports are essential to you. Is there anything that you canโt do today?
- What feature gaps you see in Wrike today.
If your organization uses the OKR process, it would be extremely helpful if you could comment below and share how you do it in Wrike. Iโll also be happy to talk to you directly - please schedule some time on my calendar.
Thanks a lot for your help ๐
Can you clarify what OKR stands for?
Hi, Jeremy Martin. OKR stands for "Objectives and Key Results", one of a goal-setting framework that many companies use for defining company goals and results to track outcomesย
We have an OKRs space. Within that space, each quarter has it's own project. Within each project is a task for 1st check in, 1st pass, 2nd check, finalization, and recap and score, then within those tasks are subtasks. We then use subtasks for each group (Execs, Honey Badgers, etc) who then update a shared PowerPoint to input all their OKRs into.
Hey Cody Rogers, this is great. Thank you for sharing!ย

I've recently created an OKR space. Objectives captured as parent tasks, Key Results as child sub-tasks. Quite clean and simple. Table view as default. Dates and durations toggled off since the OKRs are by definition quarterly. Workflow status based on a % complete (0-20%, 30-50% etc.) I have a couple of custom fields only. FYQ (Financial Year Quarter), and Grade (1-10) for a retro assessment at the end of each quarter. OKRs cross tagged into project-named folders, which ladder up to a dashboard.
Thanks so much for sharing Jem Wolfenden!ย ๐

We use an OKR blueprint for projects as our baseline. It's helped us increase user adoption and simplifies creating unique projects.
Hello Anthony Fronza, thank you for sharing ๐ I'm glad to hear that you are finding OKR Blueprint for projects useful!
I recently created an OKR folder structure for the Agile Marketing team I work with. It starts with a folder called "OKRs" (in our team space), then within that main folder are projects for each OKR. I've been listing the full Objective and Key Results on each project so we can be reminded of the high-level details and add any other general notes for tracking.
I created custom fields so we can filter by quarter (some OKRs span multiple quarters or things quickly change and get pushed out, so we only want to see what is relevant in the current quarter). Within each OKR project, we are creating tasks that align with every KR so we can achieve the Objective. We are trying to use the due date field to prioritize the work so we can visually see what we need to do next and get those tasks assigned to the team's Kanban board.ย
We have only been using the structure for less than 2 weeks so it it new and a bit clunky at the moment. One of my biggest hurdles is discovering I can't share the custom Q2 filter I created with the rest of my team. So almost 20 people would have to recreate my filter just to see the relevant Q2 OKRs. #pain I haven't even gotten to the point of trying to track progress to make sure we're on track.
Hi Daisy Hibbard, welcome to the Community, and thank you a lot for sharing your setup here!ย
Could you please specify in which Wrike View you've set up the filter? Is it board view? I'm asking because it's possible to create custom views and share links to them with your colleagues in Wrike. Here's more info on that. Please let me know if that helps!ย

Hi Lisa, I'm mostly using the Table view to see the OKR hierarchy. Thanks for sharing the link for custom views! I was able to create a default, custom filtered view that my team should be able to see without having to recreate the filters.
I'm very glad to hear it helped Daisy Hibbardย ๐ค
