default status of a workflow

Please make it possible to change the default status of a workflow to a non-active status. For manual added tasks we use an automation on new tasks to change the status, but automation won’t work for recurrence task

Thanks for reaching out. While there's no update on the request yet, here's a workaround that might help. The default status for a workflow is the first status in the "Active" category. You could rename it to your preferred starting status. 👇🏼
 
Keep in mind that renaming will affect all existing tasks with that status, so it might be best to create separate workflows and rename the first status there. If you need to change the initial workflow status, you can use the Mass Edit feature to apply statuses to multiple tasks simultaneously.
