Your Feedback: New Dashboards
Hi everyone!ย
ย
We're following upย onย theย recentย new Timeline release with aย brandย new version of Dashboardsย ๐
ย
Everyone with Dashboards will see the newestย version of itย in their Workspace today.ย Here's what the Product Team has worked on:
- Navigation and the ability to rearrange Dashboards
- Redesigned (think; slicker) interface
- Improved performance for a high loadย
- Increased number of Dashboards for Enterprise users
ย As always, we want to hear your valuable feedback so please post below and let us know what you think of this latest release!ย ๐
While the new dashboards are attractive, they no longer serve the workflow our company has become accustomed to over the past few years.
This new dashboard update eliminates a second folder from view, unless we are to expand the view by clicking the three dots, which eliminates our ease of use. Our firm uses the first folder to identify the project, and the second folder to identify its status. That second folder is labeled and color-coded and makes it quick and simple to recognize. Without this small feature, we're in big trouble in our daily routine.
We're asking that in the new version of Wrike, multiple folders continue to appear in the dashboard view WITHOUT needing to click the three dots.
The custom widgets displays in its' preview as though all of the folders (color-coded and all) will show, but the saved dashboard doesn't reflect the custom widgets view. Screenshots of this were sent to Wrike chat support earlier today.
I've requested for the previous version of the dashboard to be restored, and it has, but I do not want this to be an issue come January when the new version is installed.
Thank you!
Several daily operational routines crashed in our case due to inactive drag&drop option in text-filter based widgets.
We used dashboards with some specific widgets built on filter combination:
We used them for drag&dropping those filtered tasks according to our inner verification/distribution procedure.
Alsoย we used the widget for accumulating only 1 task type from whole template for Officers to approve or verify specific legal or money based activities. But it's crucial for Officers to have everything in one place and drag&drop is the most convenient tool in this case.
We like new design.ย Hopefully failures of usability where notย intended and will be solved as soon as possible.
Hi all.
In the old version of dashboards, we were able to add additional tags to tasks. For example, the task created from a request will appear in a specific folder. Usingย drag+ctrl+drop , the additional tagย wasย added to aย task. In aย new version, we can only move tasks from folder to folder.ย ย ย

Drag&drop is disabled for widgets with text filters. It makes them useless.
The new dashboard leaves too little space for tags so we canโt use them like that anymore. So the longer we can keep the old dashboard the better (unless you find a better solution for the tags).
While we can appreciate the slickness of the new interface for dashboards, agree with Holly this now no longer serves the workflow we use. The coloured boxes behind the workflow "status" were more easily viewed quickly at a glance versus the coloured lettering when viewing on mass the team's WIP.
Please bring back these coloured boxes, this has impacted in us significantly in only one day and anything that helps us creative types stay organised is a good thing.
I would like to echo the sentiments of Holly and Sarah. My team had just adopted using color-coded workflows and the new interface, while sleek, has eliminated our well-functioning workflow.ย
We would like to see the color coding brought back, even if only in the widget headers like this:
One of our developers mocked this up as an example of a way to bring the colors back. He did this by altering the header field on each widget and assigning the colors we use for each folder.ย
Echoing what Holly said, we'd like to see multiple folders continue to appear in the dashboard view WITHOUT needing to click the three dots. Pretty please bring it back for Christmas!ย

I want to switch the dashboards beyond the dropdown, because the numbers of my dashboards is 6, and I have to switch them frequently everyday.

New๏ผ
The numbers of my dashboards are 6, and I have to switch them frequently every day.
I know the ใdropdownใ is a good design for more dashboards scenarios, but you should know that this is not the perfect solution for each scenario.
One is that I think most of your customers would not create more than 8 dashboards๏ผ3 lines๏ผ, of course, you can check your user data.
Second, in many cases, the vertical space is enough for dashboard views even for 3 lines, because the negative impact of these reduce part is minimal, one is that the last or last two tasks within each widget may disappear, but is that a big problem?
I don't think so because the tasks in your widgets shown in dashboards are divide by the due date, which means the task at the end of the widget is not important for users' daily work, users can easily see them by scrolling wheel.
Another negative impact I think is the visual design, I know three lines is not pretty, but does all users care about this more than efficiency๏ผEspecially for the persons like me who need to switch dashboards frequently in every hour?
If I can click 60 times to switch different dashboards in a day with the old design, now I have to click 120 times to switch different dashboards in a day with new design.....
Efficiency is the key to teamwork tools, as a product manager, I hope you can think more about your each design optimization.
Keep better:)
Thank you @Alexey Kartavenko for your quick response.ย Me and our team will be waiting for new features.
Hi everyone, thank you for all of your feedback here! Alexey commented above with some planned next stepsย but if you have something that you didn't think was addressed just let us know and of course, continued feedback is extremely valuable to the team.ย
@Qian Part of the reason for the change was to give people moreย room on the view. I know for you it's more important to have all the Dashboards visible at one time though. You are able to change the order that Dashboards appear in, in the dropdown. Is that helpful to you?
@Stephanie , thanks for your reply, I admit that ใthe ability to chage dashboards orderใ is a good design point, but you should know that the sum of my dashboards are 6, which means the order of my dashboards are not so important for me.
The most important is, even I place my most frequently dasoboards ahead, I still have to click two times to finish the ใswitch dashboardsใ action, the efficiency problem problem still there.
@Qian I understand, thanks for letting the team know.
I'm extremely new to this product and dashboards so I'm probably using them in a very simple manner but I was wondering if there might be a way to allow the user some flexibility on looking at date. Currently, we view open tasks and those completed within the last week or so during our weekly meetings.
I would like to have all of our completed tasks available for viewing but that option only allows me to see the oldest tasks completed first and I need to scroll to the bottom to see the newest completed tasks.ย
My suggestion is to have an option to view dates as newest first or oldest first.ย
Hi there. I'm still pretty miserable about the update. The monochrome "slicker" interface doesn't work well for me and my team. We had just figured out how to create color-coded lists and now I can no longer quickly glance at my task lists and know what to work on next based on their color.ย I'm not sure that Wrike is the best solution for us anymore, and I'm quickly becoming a detractor for us continuing to use it. The whole point is to organize tasks and make them easy to visually sort and prioritize, right?ย
This update has made thatย very difficult.
Is there any way to restore the previous version of the dashboard? Ug. ๐ซ

Serge - I don't see an image above if you were trying to post something. Color coding the folders doesn't help when I'm viewing my widgets because the colors don't show up at all. It's just black and white. :(
Hi Mandy, thanks for getting back. I'll raise a Support ticket to take aย closerย look at thisย for you.ย Weย will reach out soon by email to help.ย
Hi all! I'm happy to share that now you can drag-and-drop Folders/Projects from the Folder tree onto a task in the Dashboard widget to tag it. ๐
Let me know if you have any questions.
I have a use case I can't handle with the dashboards (or Reports, for that matter).
I recently set up a dashboard using the option to filter tasks in widgets using the ยปcurrent userยซโฆ basically the dashboard shows tasks, grouped by some major statuses (only for some statuses, not all) and/or specific tag, so each member can check their tasks in these statuses/tags.
The question I got from my boss was ยปCan you make it so I can easily change the assignee?ยซโฆ he'd like to easily swap employees to check their tasks.
Well, the only way to do that currently is to edit each widget and change the assignee.ย
The "Board" view is not good enough either, since it only shows statuses from a single workflow and it can't include tags (tags don't really fit there, which is fine, but in my case I need that as well, that's why I went with a dashboard).
ย
Screenshot of the dashboard I made is attached.
Hi Serge.
No, that's not it, unless I can filter (multiselect) by specific statuses (from various workflows)... and by tags. Which afaik you can't.
Thanks for replying, Blaลพ! You definitely can filter your reports by specific statuses from different workflows. You cannot filter by tags, that's true. However, since tags represent Folders/Projects from the Folder tree, you can easily select what Folders/Projects you'd like to include the tasks from:
Please let me know what you think!
Ooops, not sure how I missed that :). OK that helps... it's not exactly what I want, but better than changing N widgets every time...
Still, consider this use case for dashboards aswell.
I switched to the new dashboard only to come back later and my dashboard was missing. I recreated it twice and it kept disappearing before I realized when you switch to the new dashboard it moves the dashboard to a space under tools. I prefer how in the current dashboard it stays in the dashboard section in the top left navigation. For the new dashboard, I have to click into a space, then tools and then the dashboard. Too many clicks to get to what I want. Can this be fixed?
Thank you for letting us know your feedback Liz Berdow, I'll now share it with our Product team ๐
