WAY IMPROVED!  Thank you!

Two suggestions:

  1. Is there a way to export to MSFT Project?  That would be tremendous...  I know you can import it says.
  2. How do we print to a pdf or jpg or a view we can send a client?  THat also would be a great feature.

Thanks!

It would be nice to see overdue tasks in red still and who is assigned the tasks. The old way had a cleaner look in my opinion. I'm still going to enable the old timeline in Wrike labs. Please do not get rid of the old timeline view. This really helps in viewing work and creating tasks quickly.

I think the new time line view is great. I work almost exclusively in the time line view.

The only thing that is still missing for me: I would like to have the option to see the importance of a task in time line view, this is the only reason for me to switch to other views.

I would like to be able to still create task in the Gantt chart - with the old timeline this was possible via shift + click

Good work on the new timeline! However, please add back the ability to reschedule a project by shift-dragging a milestone. I use this feature just about every day, and without it, rescheduling a project even by a few days becomes incredibly time-intensive. You also risk breaking dependencies if you move tasks in the wrong order. I appreciate the hard work that went into the new timeline; however, until this critical feature is added, I'll be reverting to the old timeline.

Can't drag to rearrange...or maybe I'm doing it wrong or selecting the wrong data?

I can't seem to print / export the new timeline. Particularity loosing the ability to share share time lines as a webpage was one of the features that sold my company on Wrike. Is there a time frame on when this functionality will be brought back?

This has effectively made all scheduling in wrike for us useless if we aren't able to send it to clients

A step backwards for me, sorry.

The tasks no longer have the assignee visible. I create hundreds of tasks a month and my team assign themselves. The timeline enabled me to see if any tasks were not taken so I could assign them. The new timeline does not have that. That was the sole use I made of timeline. I have reverted to the old timeline.

Please never take away functionality.  You can see how useless it has become now from these two screen shots of the new and the old. By all means change the full name to just the initials I see in Board view, but to remove a vital function was a serious error of judgement.

I agree with Chris. I understand it's not always possible to keep EVERY feature; however, it seems that too many critical features were left out. I'd recommend starting with restoring these features when you build your development plan.

Are SHIFT related functionalities gone? I can't seem to be able to create tasks on the fly or move the milestones... Is that something planned or should we be reverting to the old functionality to have those options available?

EDIT: Never mind, I just saw this: https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005812049#plans

I really love that fast timeline code. So nice and clean design. Seeing the tables same time with timeline is great too. But... Totally agree with Chris Wheal. Lots of good things gone now.

1) There was a useful filter option on top in old timeline. It was really easy to see what i filtered but now I see only just a Filter text? If you want to see what you filtered in new timeline, in example assignees, you need to click it and a filter window shows up on right side over the timeline. What happend that old beautiful filter option? Please just put that option to the top again.

2) Another useful feature removed. Where is days count? In old timeline i was just touching the job and in that small window there was days count. Please put that days count in there again or add it to the Table View with a column option.

I am waiting for that useful functions back or i have to go back to old timeline...

Keep in touch with your users please.

Best Regards.

A few things to make this better...

  1. Allow for sharing the Timeline with a URL like you could with old timeline - and to make this better, allow to share and ACTIVE/LIVE view link, but a snapshot of moment in time
  2. Allow drag and drop arranging of tasks under the timeline gannt view - currently you can only add a task to the bottom and have to switch views to rearrange
  3. Also, allow to add tasks above or below any task in gannt view, not just the bottom task - that way you can add under a folder directly in line where needed

We can create tasks by "New Task".
But It is inserted only to the root.

I would like to create also Sub-Tasks like Table View.

I also had requested this function in the term of the monitoring.

I like the addition of additional table section in the timeline view.

When expanding out to view from year or quarter our company works in a different "quarter" description for Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4 for the months associated with them. Being able to change the month in the admin settings could be helpful.

This timeline is way eaisier to read.

However, i can't way a way to print the timelines or send them to clients. How can we do it  ?

In addition to that, could it be possible to add colors to the main tasks name, this could help clients to get the information in a quick glance ?

regards

I agree with both Chris Wheal and Bülent Gerçek

Day counts was extremely important, and now you are relied on having to open a task to quickly check how many work days a task currently has.

Also, not sure if this happens to other people: I use Wrike on Chrome + Windows (both 7 and 10). I get performance issues while displaying the new timeline. After modifying a task and going back to the timeline, I get overlayed text, sometimes no text at all. Sometimes, when dragging on an empty space to move around it turns out I was dragging a task. There is no UNDO feature anymore. On our end, it also feels like a step backwards. The New timeline looks pretty, but the functionality has lost a lot of value. I have turned on the OLD timeline from wrike.com/labs and will continue to use it until the New timeline is improved after a few iterations.

Can the message that appears when you switch back to the old time line be changed to not imply that it's the users that are not ready.

By pushing out the new timeline with not ability to share the timeline has left me dealing with 40 high stress project managers breathing down my neck. The message implying that this is their fault that the tool has been made completely useless to them has pushed me into having to approve several MS project licenses and undoing 6 months of user acceptance.

I switched to using it in beta as the layout is cleaner.  The filtering on the custom fields is much more flexible and it would benefit the Table view (is it planned to roll out to other views?).  It would be good to get the quick filter options back (under the "Show" label), and to extend the column options.  Having Timeline as an option in reports would be useful for presenting data.

New Timeline is heading in the right direction, but has been released to early!

Not having the core functionality of the "old timeline" is a basic error by Wrike, this is a bad approach to releasing software that is so widely used in professional companies.

Why oh why did you do this, and not leave the New timeline until it was ready?

Having said that I have turned back on the "Old timeline" for now but presumably this is not company wide (PLEASE CONFIRM THIS), so now I will have to go to 50 users, log into their accounts in labs and change setting, really not happy!

Is there anyway you can turn both views on company wide for our company until functionality is put back in?

Please sort this urgently, I struggle to get people on board with new working practices and software and releasing changes in this way does not help.

I really liked the zoom and panning and overall zoom window in the "Old Timeline" will this be added back in?

I like the Table view to the left, currently can show assignee for tasks and status, it would be useful to be able to show same on the Project Line the Project Owner assigned and the Status of the Project, this way when multiple projects are being in collapsed state we can sort and focus on.

Projects that are Red, then Yellow, Then Green and by the Project Owners.

As a result of this I will now being reviewing our continued use of Wrike next year, ..... disappointed to say the least.

I just want to share that the new timeline view is awful. It is great that I can just grab the screen to slide around (seriously), but that was the only issue previously. Now, it's really frustrating that you need to hover over a task in order to see if there's an option to drop down into more tasks. Previously, it was indicated automatically on the side if a task could expand. And mostly, I'm not sure what exactly happened with the lines for the dependencies, but it's impossible to understand! The lines got more swirly or something and they cut out if words are crossing over them. I truly cannot follow the timeline view at all anymore. This is a major issue for my projects. Is there any way to revert the settings?

Hey

Again, that's a good step in a line of improvements. But.. It's a payable feature, sorry ( Business class, really?

By the way, Wrike marketogists could get some points of their up, if they'll take into account such a glorious product as Planfix. This is a truly competitor of Wrike, even more

Thanks for continuation of making improvements!

I was SO excited for new timeline view (we had a LOT of bug issues with the old timeline), but our PM team is finding the new timeline view very difficult to work with. Here are our specific struggles:

  1. As others have mentioned, not having the name of the assignee next to the task is an enormous pain. That was one of the main things I used timeline view for. Yes, you can have it in the chart, but that's not nearly as easily visible.
  2. The stinking chart. I really just need task name and assignee. Every single time I go to the timeline, I have to configure my columns to remove the unnecessary columns and add the assignee. Every. Time. It would be awesome if there was some way to set preferences so that it defaults to that. I actually don't really understand the function of the chart - I can see the task name, the nesting structure, and the dates on the timeline graph (which is where I want to see them anyway). Apart from the assignee name, it seems to me like the chart just takes up room, and I can't collapse it or get rid of it.
  3. Filters - On the old timeline, there was a default Active filter at the top, and if I wanted to include completed tasks, I could just click the X on the filter. It was fast and easy to toggle between my active tasks and all tasks. Now I have to open a filters pane and select the appropriate checkboxes, which is a much more cumbersome process to get to what I need.
  4. We desperately need the ability to reschedule using shift and the milestone and the ability to create timeline snapshots.

All in all, the new timeline seems much more clunky to navigate and more difficult to find what I need visually. On the positive front, we no longer have tasks constantly disappearing and reappearing on the timeline, so it has that going for it over the old version. This basically forces me into using the new version, but it's a slower and more painful process. :( I'm really hoping that the improvements will roll out quickly!

Hi all, I've got an update for you 🙂

Now, if you have a set of dependent tasks, you can mass reschedule them in Timeline and gaps between tasks are preserved when you reschedule tasks in this way.

You can read more about this on the Dependencies on the Timeline Help Centre Article 👍

Horizontal scrolling across the timeline would be useful as opposed to trying to zoom out far enough to find the section of the timeline you're looking for.

Why take away functionality on a new update? One of the only useful features in our office is creating SHAREABLE timelines with clients. You have removed on of the only useful aspects of this software, in my field at least. Having to revert to an old timeline view is pretty ridiculous. We will be looking into new software. Not impressed with this.
