Report and display the project associated to task
I would like to easily report, display and group tasks by the projects to which they are associated.
We heavily utilize project templates, with subfolders for the various phases of the project. As result, there are hundreds of tasks across projects with the same exact name, existing in a folder with the same name. Displaying the parent folder becomes useless.
This would greatly increase the functionality of reports and dashboards.
Three suggestions given that are not adequate:
1. Add a task prefix upon duplication -- task names are too long, and when looking at a single project there is a lot of redundant noise.
2. Tag tasks to the Project itself as well as the subfolders -- requires additional manual tagging and prevents me from seeing all currently active tasks on the project.
3. Create a Custom Field to represent the name of the project -- requires manual (and potentially missed) work whenever any additional tasks are created.
Hi Timothy, thank you for taking the time to post this on the Community after your conversation with Natalia from the Support Team! I also really appreciate how you've included the suggestions for this, in case they do help other users in the meantime. :)
It would be REALLY helpful for specific categories of work to be able to see progress on both tasks and projects. I have been using Wrike for a while now, and never figured out why my reports were never complete!
Thanks for posting Shannon. Would Brent's suggestion be something that interests you? If so, could you please upvote that post so we can keep all feedback in the one place? If it's not exactly what you had in mind, it would be great to hear a use case around how this helps you so our Product better understands the suggestion 🙂
Any update on this? Thanks!
Hi Shelby Chung, welcome to the Community! We will be providing a status here once the post reaches the 60 upvotes' threshold, so please upvote ( = "like") Timothy's original post above if you haven't yet. In the meanwhile, please let me know if you have any questions, I'll be happy to discuss 🙂
