[Use Cases] Project Requirements Management 📝
Hi everyone! 🤗
We are happy to introduce and discuss our next use case - Requirements Management!

- Use Case: Project Requirements Management.
- Can be used by: Any team.
- How to launch: From the space creation dialogue.
- Functionality used: Folders, projects, tasks, custom fields, a report, a request form, dashboards.
- What’s inside: A folder for all requirements plus additional folders where requirements are grouped by customers and by projects; a requirements template, a request form for capturing requirements, four dashboards for tracking differently grouped requirements, a report where requirements are grouped by releases.
- Additional resources:
- What You Need To Know About Requirements Gathering on the Wrike blog.
- What Is a Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)? on the Wrike blog.
- How To Write a Business Requirements Document (Template Included) on the Wrike blog.
- How To Carry Out a Requirements Analysis - on the Wrike blog.
Now, let’s take a closer look at the template!
The main folder here is the ‘All Requirements’ folder that comes with example requirements tagged with customer subfolders and projects.
The ‘By Customer’ folder is a useful organization tool that helps to give a quick overview of all requirements for each client. There is also a ‘By Project’ folder.

Another useful folder is ‘zTemplates’ which has a template task for capturing all important requirements info. There is a list of ready-made custom fields here for quick sorting and filtering.

The pre-made request form creates a new task in the ‘All Requirements’ folder after the form is submitted. The template task mentioned above will be used for this request form.

The last important element of this template is the tools section. It comes with four custom dashboards for tracking requirements and a report.

How do you capture and process project requirements? Would you consider using this template for managing them? Please share 👇

Nice idea, especially the complete concept with the request form.
Thanks for sharing. I will pass this on to our scope manager.
This is a neat idea! We heavily utilize our current request form in our team to gather as many requirements as possible for our reports. Then we mention the requestor if we need any additional details.
Great example of using the Request form, template and blueprint to formalize and manage requirements!
Great template. I'll be able to use some of the elements for the optimization of wrike for our team!
Great template. My projects are very repetitive however I'm passing this over to another department that could definitely make use of this template!
This is a great idea, and I will run it by our manager to see if it will work for internal and third party projects. Thanks!
Thank you for your feedback in relation to this use case template, everyone 🤗

I like the template for requirements! Would be helpful to add to our in-take form. Thanks.
This is great - I just wish I could add the elements to an existing space rather than creating a whole new space.
Thanks, folks!
Sarah Dungey We've made our team aware of this feedback, and we'll let you know if there are any changes for how these templates work 👍

The majority of our projects are pretty standardized so we capture the information via our request form and use a blueprint. For other, larger projects with several moving parts, this is a great idea.
Great, but I was expecting more details about the flow
Nice template. We tend to capture requirements in a word doc (on OneDrive for ease of collaboration) as we have to get the client to sign off on it. We also utilize the wikis and other areas on DevOps.
Thank you for sharing how you work with requirements, everyone!
Airum Gibson Thanks for this feedback, we'll take it on board 👍
