Duplicate question or page in a request form

Hi All,

I note there is an existing thread for this question. Although it doesn't explicitly state how to duplicate a question or page within a request form. If anyone can advise the answer that would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Sarah,

Are you looking to duplicate within the same request form or take pieces of other forms to build other forms?

Hi Ryan Nelson! This is an old thread but I'd like to know the answer to this question. I need to create a form that is similar to, but still different than, one of our existing forms that is quite long and complex, with multiple pages and references to pre-defined dropdown lists. I don't want to build the new form from scratch if I don't need to. Is there a way to duplicate just the parts of the existing form that I need, rather than duplicating the entire form then deleting everything I don't want, with the danger that I will get rid of something I do need? Thank you for your help!

Michelle,

As far as I know there is not a way to take some questions from one request from and add to a different request form. What you can do, as I am sure you already figured out since you asked the question is to duplicate your already existing request form and then start to alter the duplicate what you want. Once duplicated you can then move questions around. You can move pages up and down to make it easy to move the questions around. To move the pages up or down you go to the top of the page and click the three line menu icon.

From there you can then select to move the page up, down, or merge with other pages.

I know that is not the answer you are looking for but it may get you started in the right direction.

Thank you, Ryan Nelson! I do have another question. In building this form, I wanted to add a question that accessed a dropdown menu that my predecessor had built and used on some other forms. This is a list of all our sales reps, which had been built in the "Manage Custom Fields" area. But when I select "Dropdown" in the form, that list isn't available to select. How can I access the list of sales reps on my request form? This isn't something she taught me and I can't seem to find this answer anywhere. Thank you for your help!

Michelle, This is easy to do. You basically need to add the Custom User Field that has already been created into the Folder to which the results of your request form will go. To do that, when you are creating your request form you are placing the results into a project, or folder.

You will want to go to that folder, and beside the icon that you would click to see the folder or project info is a 3 dot (eclipses) icon.

When you click on that you will want to select Manage Custom User Fields.

The Custom Fields menu will open that will show you all the custom fields that are part of that folder, either in that folder, or a parent folder or a sub folder. You will then hit the + New Field button. When you get the drop down list, start typing the name of the already created Custom User Field, and it should be the top one to select. Once you select it, it will now be available in this folder.

You can then go back to creating the request form (refresh page if it was open while you did the above steps), and add the drop down question, and then you should be able to select the Custom User Field options and will populate.

On a quick side note, you may want to keep a list of the request forms use these CUF to populate lists, because if you change them you will need to to into the request forms that uses these CUF's and refresh the lists so the updated list can be viewable on the request form. We keep a list like this in a Wrike task, so then when our admins updates one of those lists, we know exactly what request forms need to be updated.

Hope this helps.

Ryan Nelson, I'm creating a mammoth request form in Wrike where there are 15 different pathways depending on the kind of request to marketing, and each of them require selecting from about 15 corporate brands and then 20 product brands. Is there now a way to create these blocks once and reuse them within the same request form? Thank you!

Hi Wendy Whittaker, let me jump in here. It's not currently possible to copy questions, unfortunately, but I'll pass your interest to our team.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

Dang, that's unfortunate there's still not that capability, Lisa. Thanks for answering.

I was trying to see if I could move a question from one page to another within the same request form but am not finding anything. Guessing that is not possible, either?

Thanks for your help!
