Task sections in List View
Hey guys,
I would like to suggest adding a Task Section in the Task List view.
The Sections will help to group/divide tasks with a common goal like Phases instead of using sub-tasks.
It will also help to create more clarity and structure when having many tasks.
Please let me know what you think.
Cheers.
I agree, this is a feature present in most project management tools, and makes it a lot easier to split task in categories/phases/etc...
Agree as well. We have this in table view, but there is great benefit to using the "3-pane" view, which you can't get in Table View as the Task Details is in the form of a "pop-up." It would be great to see breakdowns showing both projects, and then tasks/subtasks all laid out, as you can do in the Table View.
Related to this request as well I believe:

Thanks!
Hey guys, thank you for all of your feedback here! It's all been passed on to the Product team.
Phases/Sections would be a turning point for our organization to clearly understand work flows.
Yes please! Asana has had the ability to create sections/headings to better organize tasks in list view for years! It's a must have feature in my opinion.

I was an Asana user at my former place of employment and agree that the task "sections" are a game changer. I see it has been years since this was posted - maybe it has not generated enough interest for consideration? Have people found other great ways to organize their tasks without sections?
Hi Ashley Gabbert, welcome to the Community, and thank you for posting!
At the moment, there are several sorting options for organizing your tasks but I do understand it might be different than sections. May I ask if you have considered using custom fields and filters to achieve this organization? Another option might be is to use Dashboards with Custom Widgets and Custom fields, which will organize your tasks in widgets. Please let me know if you have any questions 🙋🏻♀️
How does Wrike still not have sections? I think we'll go back to Asana based on this alone.
Welcome to the Community Ryan Teeples 👋 Have you tried using the Board View in Wrike? It's a kanban-style board where "sections" are represented by different statuses. Please let me know if that helps or if you have any questions.

Yes, that simply doesn't work for us. We don't want to use boards. The list view with Ganntt is great, except for the lack of sections. I don't see why this is so hard. What Asana has is perfect.
Ryan Teeples I understand your feedback here. At the same time, Kanban boards are a standard tool for many work management solutions. I will be sharing your feedback with the Product team 👍

Also dropping a note to echo the painful lack of sections on Wrike. It's a fairly simple add that would make a HUGE difference in management of projects day to day! It helps organize projects into different phases without having to have subtasks. The overuse of parent/sub tasks cause confusion on where to place project information. This would be a game changer, as echoed in the comments above. Surprised at how much this request has been dismissed by the community team thus far. As it seems other people who are actively in the work have echoed, Kaban Boards, custom fields, and filters are not a substitute for this ask.
Hi Alisha Skeel, welcome to the Community and thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
Please allow me to share a little detail on how we process Product Feedback. We receive many great ideas on Community, and we pass on all feedback to our Product team. If you'd like to find out more, this article explains what happens after we receive Product feedback.
In the meantime, if there are any updates in relation to this suggestion, we'll be sure to update you here. Please let me know if you have any questions.
HI All-
Brand new user to Wrike- have used Teamwork and ASANA at previous employers. I don't even know how to use list view without sections. The list just looks too long and cumbersome- and for those that like list better than board- it's totally overwhelming. Any updates here?
Thanks,
Hello Jennifer Kinzel, welcome to the Community! Thank you for your comment. Earlier this year it was announced that the List View will be merged into the New Table View and for this reason, I'd highly recommend you focus on the latter 🙂
Also, I have shared your case with your Custom Success Manager so that they can help you with your transition 👍 If you have any additional questions, please let me know 😁
Lastly, I'd like to mention that you can check our New to Community forum to discover all the resources you can find in our Community.
Hello,
So can we divide tasks into different sections in the Table View, or not yet? It would be very helpful, please let us know.
Kind regards,
Rafał
New Wrike user and am frustrated with the lack of making sections for tasks within a project.
Tried using the custom field tool - to group them by that custom field - but the fields are not in order by delivery - they setup in alpha order - which does not work for the project.
Having sections for tasks, like Asana, would be so helpful as a new user.
Hey Rafał Pindral, you can use grouping in the New Table view, here's an article that explains how to do that 🙂
Hi Cassie Roach, thank you for reaching out! You're right that the fields are shown in the alphabetical order in this case. I'll share your feedback with our Product team 🙌
