I agree.

Currently there is 1 dropdown, to apply your question/answer to either Title, Description, or CF.

Perhaps those could all be separated as separate options, maybe as checkboxes.

In theory, I might want an answer to appear in all 3 places.  For example, I might have a form that duplicates a project template, including a question for "Job #".  That number would exist in the project's name.  But it might also be helpful in the set of description notes that results.  Furthermore, it should also drop into a CF for reporting purposes.

Here's a mockup:

I have a grander vision that stems from this idea:

Link Form Submissions to Table Columns
Is it possible to have the fields entered on a request form populate the columns of a project table? In other words, I'd like to have people fill out a form with several fields. On submission of the form, I want the form to trigger:
1. Create a project in a specific folder
2. Assign tasks and a workflow according to a project template
3. Set the columns in the project table view according to the form fields
4. Populate the project table cells with the submitted information
5. Create field codes that I can use to create custom text, which can be (1) copied & pasted into an email, or (2) incorporated into a Wrike function that lets people send emails from within the app.

I realize this is a lot. If there is a guide to programming for Wrike, I'd be happy to learn and try to help. But otherwise, I can't make these things happen on my own. I've attached some examples of what this would enable, and annotations follow.

Form Submission

It would also be great if we had a choice wrt to prefix or suffix, especially when using the View in Calendar feature.

Table view with form fields setting the column names and submitted data populating the table:

Then on viewing the parent folder or project in table view, we'd be able to compare across projects/tasks:

Using form submission fields in email generation:

Basically, when someone completes a form, the data would trigger several actions, only stopping at the point when human decision making is required. And if you incorporate email, automated, custom emails could be triggered when dependent tasks are completed. This would be a dream come true for me and my business.

For us it would indeed be great if we could place the anwser of a question in both the title and the description. The anwser to certain question must sometimes be in the title to geve a quick overview of all tasks and what they are, but when entering the task, you mostly look in the description for the info about the task. Then you however don't find the data between all other data, because it is in the title (and you need to know to look there). If we could have a checkbox to choose where the anwser  all must appear instead of a dropdown box, where we can choose only one, that would be great.

@Jochen - Do you think my mockup would do the trick?

My team for example would like to state "XYZ" in the title as well as in the custom fields

@sam Hersee - Yep, that would do the trick perfectly 😄

Excellent Suggestion Kathy! would really benefit form being able to set date questions  as align task with project date aswell as adding to the project title - otherwise you have to add two questions asking for the same thing !

Please vote for the ability to set file upload parameters too :)

For our need, we would like to have the answer show up in the description as well as in the custom field.  Having a checkbox option to select more than 1 would be great.

Hello all,

Was this ever actioned?

We're making a report where the data needs to show in the custom field and the description but we don't seem to be able to do so. 😬

No. I'm told we need 60 votes to prioritize it

Hi all 👋

Just for clarity, our team sees every suggestion posted in the Product Feedback section. There's an automated API built between this forum of the Community and our Product Team's feedback Folder in Wrike, so literally no idea is missed.

The guide to voting and statuses are based on a minimum of 60 votes. Meaning, there is a threshold which, once reached, automatically requires the Product Team to provide an update. We have so many great ideas coming into Community, it's impossible to investigate, comment and implement them all, but we can at least commit updating everyone on ideas which have 60+ votes.

This does not mean that feedback requires 60 votes before our Product Team considers it - though it helps to show how popular the idea is. If the team see an idea, see the value and have room on their roadmap, they may begin to investigate and develop it regardless of votes. Either way, they love hearing your feedback, so please continue to provide us with ideas.

Right now, enhancements to Requests Forms is not something on the short-term roadmap. Once the team review Request form automation again, this, and other related Community threads, will be reviewed and I'll be back here to give you an update then 👍

Thanks for voting and posting 🙌

This would also be useful to our team, currently we have to ask the question twice within a request form. Once to map it to a custom field and the second time to have it placed into the title of the project.

Thanks.

Hi everyone!

As this idea is getting more votes, I asked our product team to provide a status for it, and for now, it's a Backburner, which means they'd like to do it, but can't fit it to the short-term roadmap.

Thanks a lot for keeping this conversation going! Your use-cases help the team when they are reviewing the suggestions. I'll get back to you when there's an update for this.

If users could choose more than one place for answers to questions on the request form to go, that would be ideal.  It frustrates our users to have to answer a question twice, in order for the data to go to 2 different places.  Thank you!

Adding another +1 vote for this functionality. Request forms have been a lifesaver to our workflow, but we would be very appreciative if responses could populate to multiple places (i.e., title, description, custom fields).

Wrike Integrate (paid add-on) can be used to create a solution where you ask a single question on a Wrike request form, and the answer populates to multiple places on the resulting Wrike task.

Here's an example community recipe demonstrating how to do this, for a use case where the request form asks for a due date that is mapped to a custom field, and the resulting task uses that date from the custom field to both set the task due date and add the requested due date to the task description.

Hi everyone!

Our Product team are still interested in this suggestion but it is not on their short-term roadmap yet. If there are any updates I'll let you know.

This would be helpful, currently the default name coming in has to be manually updated every time with the information from the form selections.

This would also be helpful eliminating duplicate information entry on a request form.  We would use it for our reporting and as a searchable field within a report.  Currently I have to put the needed field on the form twice - which will be questioned by users.

Please consider making this a higher priority for your team.

@... just throwing a reminder out there I provided a mockup as the first comment.  Posted 2 years ago.

We do software development.  If this was my product, I could have a single engineer complete this update in a few days time... it's pretty straightforward programmically, and a no-brainer in terms of functionality    😕

I'm dropping my name in this mix. This is a question that has been on Wrike's radar for nearly 2 years now. I don't understand how it's not something that hasn't happened already. The mock-up that someone shared above is perfect.

Not having this makes it very difficult for my company to have a fluid workflow from Sales entering a simple and clear form that populates the title with the defining information needed by other departments but then having that same information populate a custom field so management can run reports on that information.

By needing to have two entries in a form creates needless busy work for sales and they often will just "Same" or something similar to that. So it's not helpful asking them to enter the same thing they just entered.

Hi everyone, thank you for all of your feedback here. It's been passed on to the Product team.

I understand that it can be frustrating that a Community thread has not been implemented into the product, especially one like this. As much as we would love to be able to implement every suggestion from the Community, there are several reasons why this is not the case. You can read more about our Product Feedback process in this Community article.

The Product team is interested in this suggestion, but there are currently no plans to add this to the short-term roadmap. We check in regularly with the Product team to talk about these threads, so as soon as I have an update for this request, I'll be sure to let you all know.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to me.

Our use case is a Date question in the request form that will map to the project End Date as well as a Custom Field set as a Date titled "Go Live Date"

+1 for this.  Also, after almost two and a half years it's odd that this still hasn't found its way onto the short-term roadmap

YES PLEASE to Diana Ascher's broader view of this idea! I have been trying for some time to find a way to do these same things, especially linking Table View column content to the answers given in request forms, and to cause task titles to mirror the answers to certain form questions.

At the most basic level, I have several forms that when submitted create tasks that fall into a series of folders. I'd like to be able to view all the answers on the forms in each of those folders all together in a spreadsheet-like Table View, rather than having to open each task or view the task in side-by-side List View. This would at least allow us to Filter, Report, and see at a glance what is happening within that group of tasks.

Beyond that, auto-creating a project within a particular folder and/or creating a task with a certain workflow upon submission of a form are also functions that would be incredibly helpful. Request forms are our go-to where we try to limit permissions, so being able to do as much as possible with forms as the origin point is ideal for us.
