Good morning! (Hey, it's morning somewhere, right?)

I'm Michael with Design Data, a software company out of Lincoln, Nebraska. We produce CAD software for the structural steel industry and recently brought a new product to a new market using Scrum facilitated by Wrike! My title is Chief Software Architect, but I wear a lot of hats, and one of them was Wrike deployment lead, and that has morphed into Wrike local expert. I wrote software integrating our bug tracking system and Wrike.

We've been using Wrike for a bit more than a year now, and I think we continue to get more and more out of it. Our goals for Wrike deployment were to have better planning tools and to increase the ability to adapt to the inevitable changes that occur in plans as they are executed.

About Me

My career has largely been about software engineering, but I recently got an MBA for which I studied Open Source Software business models and leadership structures.

I moved to Texas a couple of months ago, so I'm now the remote local Wrike expert.

My wife is a librarian and director of a college library.

When I'm not up to my eyeballs in code, I like cycling and mixing cocktails.

Hi Michael, I've got a brief past in mechanical engineering so I'm pretty familiar with CAD design systems - really cool software to work with!

I'm wondering if the bug tracking system you mentioned is something you can share here? If it's not too complicated 🙃 I'm sure others would be interested in your approach. Feel free to share it in the Best Practice section.

I hope the cycling and cocktail mixing is not happening at the same time 😄

Welcome to Community! 🙌

Hello Community!

I'm a project manager at a growing credit union focused in service and technology. We are starting implementation and would like to hear from any other Wrikers best practices for implementation and adoption. We want to be able to centralize projects, increase collaboration and better plan for our ever growing list of projects.

Hi Anna, welcome to Wrike and the Community 👋

Planning, collaboration and keeping everything centralized is what Wrike is all about!

To get started, I'd suggest checking out the Wrike Onboarding forum. Stephanie has shared onboarding information I think you'll find really useful at this stage of your implementation especially Rolling out Wrike post.

If you have any direct questions about Wrike's functions, you can ask the Community in the How To forum and if you're looking for any process or workflow ideas you can ask in Best Practices, I'd recommend checking out this conversation, What is your Folder Structure for inspiration on how to get your Folder and Projects set up in a clean and tidy way.

There is also a wealth of helpful recorded and live webinars, here I'd suggest watching Getting Started with Wrike.

Any questions at all, feel free to post on Community. See you around the forums 🙂

Hello,

My name is Jillian Pelliccio and I'm the Executive Vice President at a small company called NuSpecies. We're a holistic health company that helps our clients rebuild their health naturally using our custom herbal formulas and lifestyle programs.

We implemented Wrike a few years ago and so far the most success we've had is to create tasks for stuff that we don't want to forget. Every time we create a structure to organize these tasks, things change and then tasks get lost.

We have a couple of templates that work for our ongoing promotional campaigns and we went through one project successfully mapping it out in Wrike, but for day-to-day work management to keep multiple projects moving forward, we've failed. I can't go to my inbox or dashboard and be confident that it includes the tasks that I must do that day. We're overloaded with tasks that are overdue and with assigning ourselves too much work that didn't have enough time to get done in the first place.

What I'm hoping to get out of this community is advice or best practices at documenting things as they come so as not to forget them while not cluttering or diluting the potency of the stuff that has to get done right away. I guess also managing tasks in a way that allows me to know what's urgent vs. what's important and balance them.

Thank you! If you can link me to any articles or forums in here where this issue is addressed, I'd appreciate it greatly!

Greetings Jillian:  Wrike is a great product.  I implemented it at a large company F5 with many programs, projects, and tasks, And I have since moved to a smaller consulting company where I have multiple clients doing projects which I manage . I am happy to share my documents on set up and training with you to help you set up your projects in a way that may make better sense as opposed to having a lot of (unrelated) tasks to respond to.  Feel free to email me at davis@demarcheconsulting.com and we can talk by phone or email.

@Jillian Hi, welcome to the Community, happy to see you here 🙂

I am sure that your company can benefit from using Wrike! To get started, I'd recommend checking out this article about the four building blocks of Wrike. It covers the essentials you'll need to know about tasks, projects, folders and Spaces. Other Community resources that will come in handy:

Best Practices forum - ask for and share the best tips on using Wrike. For example, here is an article on creating Dashboards for work organization.

How To forum - here you can ask questions and get answers from the Community members. Like this one on Workload Charts that help a lot with planning effort allocation.

Onboarding Your Team forum - a dedicated section for members who are new to Wrike or who are onboarding new team members. Great advice on how to onboard an entire company can be found here

I'd also highly recommend checking out our webinars. They cover a great number of features and Best Practices. At the very bottom of the webinar's page, there also are video tutorials.

Please don't hesitate to ask any questions that you have 🙂 The Community is always happy to help!

@Patricia Thank you so much for such a warm welcome of the new Community members 🤗

Hello everyone,

I'm an audio engineer at the catholic radio station radio horeb in Germany.

I'm also one of our wrike admins and a power user, of course.

I'd love to get wrike working at our company at a level where internal emails are needless, so I'm still wondering why wrike bases it's own notification system primarily on email.

I happily live with my wife and five children in the southern suburbs of Munich, I love enjoying the beautiful nature and working with wood.

I primarily support suggestions like this: https://help.wrike.com/hc/en/community/posts/115002774389--Status-Backburner-Editing-Notification-Types-in-the-Inbox?page=3#community_comment_360010697813

God bless y'all!

Hi everyone,

I am Maria, I am from Germany and the PMO of an IT department (with approx. 60 employees) of a leading European real estate and facility manager.

I introduced Wrike to our IT department, the deployment process started in April 2020 and we are using Wrike since end of June 2020 for our project management (hoping that my IT colleagues will get used to it very soon :-)). We are also aiming to perform the resource management via Wrike. The resource management part is a little bit tricky as I am not sure yet how we can find the balance of having a proper view of the tasks/effort and of avoiding additional workload for managing the tasks. Happy to receive some feedback or best practises on the resource management - and the usage of Wrike in general.

Kind regards

Maria

Hi all!

I'm Ciara, and am very new to Wrike and and also to my current position as Project Manager of virtual reality product development projects focusing on promoting healthy behaviors.  We just finished our onboarding and I'm hoping to continue to increase our use of Wrike.  As a few people have mentioned, it is so much easier when you can use one tool for as many things as possible!

The biggest thing I am working on right now is figuring out a good system for note taking and minutes within Wrike.  I am working on sifting through the community posts and am hoping to find some good ideas from others who have a process in place for this already.

Greetings and Welcome, Ciara:

There are probably many ways to take notes in Wrike. You might want to try creating NOTES as a Task. I wouldn't create a Notes task for each date or time you meet, just one running stream.  Use the Editing Tools to highlight the date you meet. Your team members can add comments and Wrike keeps track of who said what and when in the Content space in the middle section, above the Comments.

You can send a copy of the notes via the Comment box to the group or individuals, and remind them they have tasks.

Good luck

Hi Ciara Cyr, welcome to Wrike!!!

What we do for meetings is we have a Meetings Folder. We create a task for each meeting, using the date as the subject. We keep at least 2 upcoming meetings available at all times. This way anyone can add notes, etc to the meeting so they don't forget.

As we are in the meeting, any item that requires ACTION, becomes a sub-task in that meeting. Assigned and scheduled. Any information pertinent to that new sub-task can be added to it on the fly.  Next meeting, we review previous tasks, move to the new meeting task if necessary. Repeat.

People assigned to sub-tasks can place their individual tasks into a folder of their own for easy access.

I hope all that made sense.

Hi Ciara Cyr I agree with Marj Downey when taking notes. This is very easy to do, and we keep notes this way for all meetings. Subtasks are very handy to create the actionable's.

One other thing I would add that we do is when talking about another project or task that has already been created, copy and paste the project or task permalink into your meeting notes so that there can be an easy way to access the project or task. The permalink will also show the status that is set for the project or task.

Happy Wriking.

Hi - I've been a Wrike user for around four years at two different organizations - at both, I've been more or less the 'Wrike evangelist' - lately, I've been struggling with competing priorities, but my goal this year is to build upon the tremendous success that we've seen with running order processing through Wrike workflows and really dig into Wrike Analyze and resource modeling.

Hello, Wrike Family!

I've posted previously, but want to share my adoration for using Wrike at our agency. We moved from Asana to Wrike in late 2019, and have never looked back! We absolutely love how easy and seamless Wrike makes project management, and we continue to flourish daily. Our goal in 2021 is to double our Wrike user base and expand the use of Wrike throughout our organization. I'm excited to be a member of the Wrike Community, and look forward to connecting with everyone :)
