We all have a “first job” story—sometimes filled with laughs, surprises, and lessons we never expected to learn. Whether you scooped ice cream, interned at a local business, or worked the register at your neighborhood store, those early days laid the foundation for important skills and memories that stick with us.

I’ll start:
My first job was at a motocross facility, where I spent my time shaping the track, planning social media campaigns, and occasionally diving in to rescue stuck riders. Safe to say, I perfected the art of mud removal from bikes and myself! 🤪🏍️
It was truly one of a kind. I learned people skills, how to handle unexpected changes, and ultimately made a lifetime of memories.

I worked in a Cafe, doing a bit of everything from serving customers to flipping burgers.
My first job was in junior high, my mother worked at a convention and visitors bureau so she got me a summer job there. The very first task I was assigned was test the "moo cow" cans: a can with holes in a circle that when you flipped it over was supposed to moo. I then had to tie a little advertising thing to it and put it in a box.
Let’s rewind to where it all began at Shopko as a retail associate!
I was a sophomore in high school and quickly learned that folding clothes perfectly is an art form. From helping customers find the right size to organizing endcap displays and navigating Black Friday chaos, I picked up skills I still use today like patience, multitasking, and how to stay calm when the barcode scanner just wouldn't work!
It wasn’t glamorous, but it was real work and I’m grateful for every awkward moment that become a learning lesson.
