Welcome to the How to section
Want to learn how to do something in Wrike, or know more about the way things work? Post your question in this section. Another Wrike user or a Wrike team member will be happy to help you out.
Posting a question here helps you get your question answered and helps other Wrike users who were wondering the same thing.
We have pushed using Wrike to deliver our Professional Services engagements. We have seen a marked improvement in using Wrike to promote a methodology to consistently deliver projects and improve customer satisfaction. We are now trying to measure project and consultant performance and this has required us to move to a reporting tool to better analyze this information. We have been able to build about a dozen or so reports from Wrike data. I am curious if other organizations have done similar things and what types of reports they have built. I would like to see a more realtime solution but for now we are living with exports and imports to create the measurements we need. Any thoughts from folks in the Wrike world?
I'm doing the same - exporting to Excel and manipulating.
Is there a way for Projects to turn yellow or red automatically - seems crazy that i have to manually check all our projects and then decide if they are green, yellow, red...i feel like i'm missing something.
Hi Vincent and Norma! Thank you for those questions. What kind of measurements are you aiming to include? Wrike's Reports might help, and if you can share a little more about your goals and metrics, I'd love to offer some suggestions.
Norma, the Project status is designed to be changed manually - automating the process would mean calculating Project status based on Task statuses, and ultimately this wouldn't provide an accurate result. Not all tasks are equal, some are more critical, resource dependent and/or time sensitive than others, i.e. 1 incomplete task could outweigh 10 completed ones. Manual control of the Project status ensures accuracy in this area. About reporting, have you tried using the Reports feature in Wrike? Sometimes exporting to Excel is the best option, but Reports may work for your team, depending on your needs. Happy to work with you to create a Wrike Report if you haven't tried it yet.
I would be so happy with just a % complete for a project. I think this is reasonable and certainly done in other software products and then the PM could set when to flag the project for review.
I have thousands of tasks and hundreds of projects to monitor - it's a challenge to constantly review all of them.
I agree with Norma - more triggers that can automatically manage flags - or even % complete calcs would be nice.
The Wrike reporting tool is an export tool or ad hoc reporting tool. I need information from the data like analytics is setup for tasks - I just need it more on a project level.
Resource utilization and margin tracking are sorely missing for us.
One area that would be helpful is we really track dates at a project level. There really is no dashboarding to show me when we are approaching certain date ranges.
Example: We may have 25 projects set to go live in September. It would be nice to be able to see this in a dashboard - albeit I can write a report.
One of the criteria for our Green, Yellow and Red status is whether the date has passed for Target Go Live. It would be nice to have the ability for the status to change automatically when the date is passed.
I agree on the date flag needed as well.
@Vincent and @Norma, thank you so much for describing your use cases in detail! I've shared all of the points mentioned in this thread with our Product Team.
Is there a manual / master reference somewhere?
Hi Byron! The Help Center serves as our main Knowledge Base, and you can find information about all aspects of Wrike right here. Of course there's a lot of material to go through, so here are some pages with basic concepts I would recommend to refer to (or refer new users to):
Another great resource is the Wrike Basic Intro Webinar, which you can sign up for on this page.
Is there a way to add a new user to all existing tasks globally instead of task by task?

Hi Linda! If you want to share the tasks, you can right click on the Folder they are located in, select "Share" and choose the new user from the menu. All tasks from this Folder will then be shared with them. The Mass Editing feature can be used to assign tasks to a user in bulk. Here's how:
