Predetermined Answers for Short Answers

It would be cool if similar to the dropdown and checkbox questions, the short answer questions could have predetermined answers if left blank! For our purposes, we need the flexibility of having a large variety of input answers but there are also times where one answer is also used universally throughout. If there was some way to combine both the variability of short answer questions and one predetermined answer it would tremendously increase our productivity! Thanks!

Hey Kevin, thanks for sharing. I'd like to gather a little more detail. Is it in Request forms that you would like to see this implemented? If so, could you give me an example of some predetermined text you'd like to see from any answers left blank? There may be a workaround using dynamic Request form's redirects that we can discuss here.

Hello Stephen,

Yes, I would like to see this implemented with the request forms. For example, we use various customer account numbers for billing purposes. The short answer question is perfect for filling in this type of information because the submitter can put whatever they want. But we also have a standard house account that a lot of our customers use as well. If it were possible that with no input the answer would be the standard house number, it would be of great help to the submitter of the request.

It would certainly help with many questions to have a pre-defined answer!

This additional information is great Kevin. It's a good idea to have blanks set to a default value especially for the example you've provided. Thanks for sharing!

If you're happy to include the home account number in your Request form, you could capture this detail. It would require adding a new page with a dropdown question field; 'account number' and 'other address'. If a person chooses 'other address', you can use redirects to send them to a second page where they enter the address in a text field. It adds an extra step in the form but might save you some time in the long term.

Let me know what you think of the above!

@Beat, thanks for your input and voting 👍🏻
