Allow reports to sum values of custom field drop down values (if numbers).

I am using the custom field dropdown to allow my team to pick story points associated with their tasks. Dropdown ensures we all use the same scale of story points.  Story points allow us to understand the workload being done each sprint and also gives us an indication of velocity by team and by employee.

Currently the custom field dropdown (number value) sum in table view but they do not sum in reports.  This seems like an oversight, as I cannot get story point summations by employee at the end of the sprint which would be very useful.  Seems like an easy fix.

Hi Prasad Kumar V, thanks for your query.

Have you tried to do this with New Table View by using the data rollup feature?

Let me know if this helps 👍

Hi! I want to do this as well. Currently our Story Point field is a drop down and I can't get it to calculate using this roll up method.

Hey Jessie Ayers! 🙋🏻‍♀️

You can calculate subitems only for Number, Percent, Currency, Formula and Duration types of custom fields. For more information, you can check out this article.

Would these data types work for you instead of using a single-select dropdown?

Hey Wrike Team,

I am looping in this conversation too as we need similar Features as Chris H. mentioned above. It would make so much sense in the REPORT tool to have the SUM UP value and to have it In the BOLD FONT. Currently we are using the Wrike TABLE view to review all Budget Changes within Campaigns and The SUM works great however when you have hundred projects it Would make life easier if the FONT for the SUM was automatically in BOLD. I really hope you r team will pic up this User request...

Hi Nijole Gedrimaite 👋 Apologies for missing your comment!

One workaround I can suggest, based on Chris’s recommendation, is to use a custom field of Number type. You can then add a custom field description to instruct users to enter only the permitted values (e.g., 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13). Additionally, please remember to set the default aggregation to SUM in the custom field settings. Once this is done, you’ll be able to view the total SUM in your reports. I hope this helps with your use case!

Regarding your feedback about the BOLD FONT, we will ensure it’s forwarded to Product Team and keep you updated on any developments 👍

I commented on this request: https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/20838843101335-Add-the-ability-to-include-single-select-field-values-in-custom-field-and-report-formulas?page=1#community_comment_34899155489943, but there is a gap in being able to use the sum feature when it comes to Wrike forms. From my other comment:

Rohan V  Basudha Sakshyarika Confirming I have the same request, but more important is the ability to allow calculations on text fields. For example, if I have a form where I have a multi-select question for users to select 1, 3, or 5, I want that to link to a field against which I can do a calculation. There is no option for that now. Calculations only work against numbered fields, and then if you select a number question on a form, it is purely a box that allows user to input any number rather than pre-selected values for rankings.
