Data from Request Form on Subtasks
I'm trying to create a custom request that would create a task, and then subtasks of it based on the request. It appears that there is no way to have any of the fields filled out populate the subtask ( though they will on the task itself ).
I was able to get the date to sync by making it a start-start dependency, but it looks like I might need to create versions of every subtask needed pre populated and manually map each option based on answers . Since there a number of options I'll need to build much of the logic into the request form:
for example date and time is part of the copy they'll need for the subtasks - there is one option for each day, so a drop down list:
each one would then map to an associated page of the request form where they choose the time ( which would then require 48 options per day (( 24 hours + 24 :30 ).. this would then also lead to more options.
While perhaps overly complicated it seems like it could work - but only on those where I can hardcode the info ahead of time.
ultimately I want to be able to open a task
and then have a subtask for each deliverable -it would be easy if that info could flow in from the form but it doesn't seem to be possible.
Apologies if this answer is out there, but I can't seem to find it - if anyone knows how to do it, or a potential workaround it would be much appreciated it.
Welcome to the Community ian kahn! 🙂 You are correct - it's possible to use a pre-created subtask and use it for the dropdown options in the request form, but it's not possible to populate the subtask with the form details.
Please let me know if you have any questions, I'll be happy to discuss 🙌
