Request forms: deleting options

I'd like to delete an option from one of my dropdown menus on my request form. How do I do this please?

Hi Katy Cuff, welcome to the Community! 🙂

If you're your account's admin, you can go to the Account management section> Request Forms, then select a form that you'd like to edit and delete one of the options by hovering your mouse to the right-hand side of it:

Hi Lisa - thanks for your response. I am an admin on the account, and it doesn't provide the 'x' option. It only has the "two arrows" option ("add conditional branching and assignment"). see below.

Hi Katy Cuff,

Are you by chance trying to change the options in a dropdown question that's mapped to a dropdown-type custom field for the response?

If so, you may be encountering something that confused our team initially as well... in this case you must edit the options in the custom field itself first, then visit the request form editor, where you'll see something like this to allow you to update the options in the request form:

thanks Laura. where do i find the "custom field" you mention? Is that in the "request form"?

Katy Cuff - check the very bottom of the question you're trying the change, just below the last option. Do you see something like this? (In this example "Service Category" is the name of our custom field -- that would be something different for you.)

If you do see the word "Dropdown" here, then whatever is listed in place of "Service Category" in your question will be the name of the custom field.

To manage the custom field options, go to the folder where your form creates the resulting task/project, change to Table view, click the little gear icon at the upper left corner of the table, then click the "Manage custom fields" link.

Then you should be able to edit the custom field, changing the options as needed. Once you've done that, you can return to your form and you should be able to Update Options per the screen shot I posted previously.
