How does everyone make use of subtasks?

I use subtasks a lot with my team for month end processes for our bookkeeping and accounting teams. We have a parent task called Month-end for [MONTHYEAR]. In the parent task, we have roughly 32 tasks that need to be completed and are assigned to different members of the team. Each subtask description contains step by step instructions on what needs to be done to complete that task. Template documents are attached that can be edited and saved within the subtask. Then when all subtasks are complete myself and the CEO use the information in the subtasks to compile and complete our reports and findings, then after we meet I mark the parent task as complete.
