template process that allows for individual tasks to be assigned to different people
We are a telecom installation company and have the same process for all of our jobs; however various teams complete the jobs. We are interested in creating a process template, but we do not want to go and edit every task in the process to reassign it to different people each time.
Example:
all jobs have the same process
Job 1: Job 2: Job 3:
Task A: Tammy Task A: Tammy Task A: Tammy
Task B: Bobby Task B: Johnny Task B: Mike
Task C:Bobby Task C: Johnny Task C: Mike
Task D: Sara Task D: Sara Task D: Sara
Do you have a solution for this?
Hi Darrin,
This is fun to create and easy to do, with a little bit of work at the beginning everything should work well. I will try and show you what to do using the example that you have above.
First, create a project and call it "Templates".
Then inside that project you can create sub-projects and name them your Job Titles
Then in each job create your tasks. And assign it to your team member responsible. Because I do not have your staff I have assigned the tasks to my two accounts.
If you want one task to be done before another task you can add dependencies. You should also set the number of days that each task should take so that when you have a start date of the new job then each person will have a timeline of when to get there jobs done.
You can look at this thread on how to set the status for your templates. https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360009934474-Project-Templates?page=1#community_comment_360001177193
Once you have set durations, and assigned the tasks, and set the status to reflect the template you can see on this table view what that would look like.
Now that you have a template set up you can either duplicate the job and all your tasks with assignees are set up or you can create a Request form. To set up a request form, use this link for more information.

We use request forms for both external and internal users so that we make sure that we get all the right info at the time the job has started.
Some side thoughts, if you want to add folder tags to the template you can, but they do not transfer when duplicating or creating these tasks from a request form. I have put in a request into Wrike to make this option available. If you think that this would be valuable I would ask that you increase the vote for this option so that Wrike sees it as a valuable feature to add. Please go to this post and vote "yes".
