I don't think so, but I would love for this to be a reality OR have the ability to shorten the #'s.  

Hi Andrea & Janice, these numbers are automated and not customizable. You might be interested in voting for this request from Hani about shorter job numbers.

For now, it would be great to hear why or how you'd use this feature so we can work on some possible workarounds?

I know it's a quite "old" thread, but I would like to insist in "removing" or customising the request form numbers rather than just shortening the number. It would be practical for us to be able to add, for example, a project number in the title of the request without having to modify it ourself (let say if a boss would not take the time to modify the task).
