Moving a task into a main task

We use tasks as projects and subtasks as deliverables. So moving a task to another project is a difficult process. You can't just type in the name of the task like you would a project, to move it. You have to move the task to the folder the main tasks exists, select the main task, then drag the other task in as a subtask.

If there were a more intuitive/easier way to move a task into another task as a subtask, would be great.

Agree. I would also like an easier way to remove subtasks from one task/folder but not from others. I often have tasks that I need to track in multiple folders of projects. (ie: our spec sheet for new project we track in our project folder, but also in a folder that contains all spec sheets) but if i accidentally attach a task to the wrong parent task I have to uncouple the subtask from all folders and tasks and then place it back in the correct place. Why isn't this easier?

@Austin Hello! My personal favorite way of converting a task into a subtask is by typing its name into the subtask field of the task where I would like to add it and then selecting it from the dropdown. If you scroll down to the "Add Subtask Field on the List View" on the Subtask page, you'll see specific step by step instructions on how to do this. Just want to mention it in case you're not already creating subtasks like that.

Hi Stephanie, thanks - but this ask is about moving a subtask into another task, not converting or creating a new task. A simple "Move to:" then being able to select / autocomplete the task you want to move the item to is what is required. I don't fully understand your solution and don't think it applies here, either way it is as many or more steps than the workaround I'm already using to get my subtask into a new location. Thank you for trying though!

We also need to move a task/sub-task into another task (sub-task) of an existing task (only can move to a folder currently).

I'm trying to use Wrike Board view as a Scrum board, but there's no way to make Projects show up as cards on a board. Therefore, I'm using "Tasks" as projects and need to use "Subtasks" as tasks, I guess. And there doesn't seem to be any way to convert a "Project" to a "Task," which would be better (that way if someone on my team enters a "Project" and I need to move it to the Backlog on the Scrum board, I don't have to start all over.

I see a few people requesting similar features here. Are you working on this, Wrike?

Thanks.

I second all these ideas, in particular moving tasks into becoming projects, and vice versa.  And, projects on a board, for which there is already a mention here:  https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115002771309--Status-Not-planned-Board-View-For-Projects

Thanks!
