[Answered] emailing wrike direct into a folder

Hi just wondering if it is possible when you email wrike it can post that email direct into a particular folder rather than just creating a new task?

- From article: Add the Folder name (in square brackets) to the subject line. If there are several Folders or Subfolders with the same name, specify the Folder path.

You can also use a Folder’s unique email address to send a task directly to that Folder.

To add a task to a new Folder: Add your new Folder’s name (in square brackets) to the subject line. If the Folder does not exist yet, Wrike creates a new Folder and adds the task to that Folder.

A few staff started to use this feature and discovered that emailing a Wrike folder directly (either by using the To: or Cc: lines) does not work. We have one person here who does scheduling and we are trying to make things more streamlined for her. So, we thought we would begin emailing her Wrike folder as a (big) part of this strategy, but when we email the folder (wrike+into32....@wrike.com), the tasks end up in the sender's folder instead of hers. Any suggestions? By the way, it is not feasible to include her folder name in brackets in the subject line because these emails as it would confuse other recipients.

Hey Tonya, welcome back to Community!

So do you think this is a bug? As if you are specifying the Folder by unique email address and including it as Cc'd then it shouldn't land in any other Folder than the one you've specified - I don't understand how it possibly could land anywhere else 🤔

Just so I'm clear, can you confirm you've navigated to the person's Folder, copied the link as shown below (under Step 2) and then the email lands in a completely different Folder? If this is the case, I'll need to raise a ticket to Support to investigate.

Thanks, Stephen. Yes, I have done this, and use a similar feature all the time without a problem in tasks (using the task's email address to forward emails). This is the first time I have directed task emails to a specific folder. It hasn't worked for any of our staff (four have tried), using the specific email address of the scheduler's dedicated folder. I did leave a help message before I saw your response. Not sure if that is the same as submitting an actual ticket. Thanks. -Tonya

Does Wrike still have this option? To send an email to a folder? Because I can find a folder's permalink but cannot find an email. We want to use this to create support "tickets" for our web developer who just moved over from the IT team to the Marketing team. IT uses Freshworks. Marketing uses Wrike. So we need to move the process over, but keep it as simple as possible for users who are used to sending a simple email to a help desk.
