External approval of request from external link?

Does anyone know if there's a way to notify an external approver  that a task has been entered so they can approve or deny the task? 

Our client has numerous requests that come through from different departments within their own company. We'd like to create a Wrike request form for the departments to use, but need the client rep to be able to see the request and approve/deny it BEFORE we begin working on it.

Is that a possibility in Wrike as it stands now? How could I make this work?

Megan Black this would depend on whether the approver has a Wrike account. If so, then you can configure the form to create an approval upon submission. If not, then it get trickier and you will need some workaround. Some options

  • give approver an account. it can be a collaborator as they can be approvers. This is the best option
  • set the form up to collect emails and instruct the submitter to enter the email of the approver. then use the bidirectional emails to contact approver and solicit an OK. note that if form creates a task, it needs to be a custom item type
  • for each submission copy/paste the description or a screen shot into a doc, attach to task/project and kick off a guest review to the approver
