Task Duration Automation Based on Importance

Hello,

I would like that when I change the importance of a task (High/Normal/Low), the duration of the task also changes. For example: if the importance is High, the duration will be 20 days; if it's Normal, it will be 30 days; and if it's Low, it will be 60 days. I haven't found any automation like this; I thought about using a blueprint, but if the item is already created, it wouldn't work well.

Thank you,

Felipe

Hey Felipe! Hope you are doing great 😊

While currently there is no option to make the importance correlate directly with the task duration, I have a workaround for you that involves using request forms, so it will only work for new tasks. You can create different Blueprints with varying durations, so when someone selects the importance in the request, it triggers and launches the task with the corresponding duration.

Remember to replace the existing task with the one from the relevant Blueprint and reschedule it around the due date. This way, the dates will automatically align with the selected importance.👇🏼
Additionally, you can also set up an automation rule to keep relevant users updated about tasks that have high importance.

I hope this solution works well for you! Let me know if you have any other questions or need further assistance.
