Can an Approval be Canceled if the Task/Project is Marked as Completed?
Hi Wrike Community,
I’m curious if there’s a way to cancel an approval process after a task or project has been marked as completed. Here’s the situation: sometimes, a task gets marked as “completed” before the approval process has been finalized or while it’s still in progress. In these cases, it would be helpful to cancel the approval to avoid unnecessary notifications or delays.
Has anyone encountered this issue before, and is there a workaround or feature in Wrike that allows an approval to be canceled if the task or project status changes to “completed”? I’d appreciate any insights or suggestions.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Best,
Corey
From what I can tell, there is not a way to automate closing/canceling the approval (probably for audit trail purposes). However, you can set up filters on a dashboard widget for your team so that they can see all open approvals assigned to them and filter it to only show those on Active status items.
Step 2: For the Completed stage, you can either ignore or delete the Approval option if it's already there. 👇🏼
After making the changes, here's what it looks like when I change the status to Completed. 👇🏼
I hope this helps. Please try it out and let me know if you have any follow-up questions. Thanks! 😊
