Hi Marian Fishman, welcome to the Community! 🤗
It's possible to change the due dates for the completed tasks, but not the completion dates (this info is recorded as a note in the task stream and can't be changed/removed):
Please let me know if you have any questions, I'll be happy to help! 👍

Marian Fishman We ran into a similar problem on our team. The workaround we have is that we created a date custom field "Completed Date" at the project and task level. This also gives us completed dates on both of those levels for reports and dashboards. This way if you mark something complete, but it was completed several days ago, the custom field can have the actual completed date in it.
Thanks for sharing your best practice Devree Czupinski, it's a great tip!
Also found it a bit annoying that the task completion date can not be edited! Will try Devree Czupinski's work around. Thanks.
This is especially annoying when importing an MS Project file--if a task is completed, it sets the date completed as the date of the import! This should be editable, but I'll try the workaround.
Hi Joseph Shuffield, welcome to the Community and thank you for chiming in here.
Can this be changed? The "completed date" should be editable.

I have just started experimenting with Wrike and the inability to edit the Completion date is a real show stopper. Please allow this date to be edited!
Hi Jennifer Mash, welcome to the Community 👋
The ability to change the completed date is not planned by our team at the moment. At the same time, your feedback is logged and passed on to our Product team.
Please let me know if you have any questions about Wrike or need help with anything 🙌

I agree with others, this is a show stopper and we need to edit the Completed Date. Work around to use a custom field is a good idea, but can you tell me how to set the date automatically when the status is changed to Completed.??
Hi Carrie Jensen, welcome to the Community 👋
It's not currently possible to change a custom field automatically at the moment. Our Product team is researching this right now, and it would be great if you can upvote this post and share your feedback in that thread too 🙂 Here's more info on how we work with product feedback, please let me know if you have any questions.

I agree with others this the completed field needs to have the ability to be editable. There are many instances with a small team where projects are update at the end of the week or after tasks have been completed. This really skews what a project looks like when showing progress to others not within the group. It could be set so that only certain contributor have the ability to edit the field.
Please tell developers this is a roadblock for our company to transition from Jira to Wrike. We have tried uploading our existing projects and due to the completed date not being editable, all of our existing projects have lost the actual completed date and projects plans are scewed. Unfortunate this wasn't discussed as an urgent matter when it was raised previously, as you could have resolved this.
Welcome to the Community, folks, and thank you for your continuous support for this suggestion!
Please be sure to upvote this Product Feedback thread. We will let you know if there are any changes in the future.

Can we update the "completed date"?
Hi Olga Melnik, welcome to the forums 👋 You can edit the due date, but the completed date can't be edited.
Please let me know if you need help or would like to discuss anything else.

When you complete a task, is the completion date recorded? Or does it just mark the task as complete with no date?
Hi ROBERT BEESON, welcome to Wrike forums 🤗
It is recorded. For example, you can enable the "Completed date" field in the New Table view and it will be shown:
I hope this is helpful!

Hello,
Could we get the Completed Task date be editable? I feel like this would be beneficial.
Hi Javid Lalva, welcome to the Community. May I kindly ask you to elaborate a bit on your use case so we can share your feedback with our Product Team?
In case you need to edit the task's completed date to today's date, you can switch its status to any active and then back to 'completed'.
Looking forward to your reply!
Baffling to me that one cannot edit this field. Seems like an obvious oversight. The question as to use case is also perplexing. I manage multiple projects, sometimes tasks are completed on my day off and not all of my clients and/or teammates are actively engaged with Wrike. Sometimes I make mistakes. Sometimes I am simply busy with other tasks and only have the opportunity to update Wrike after the fact. I can't imagine anyone who would want the software to operate as it currently does.
This is a poorly designed method. Too bad for Wrike. Can Wrike team not think about this simple requirement?
Hi folks, welcome to the forums 👋
You can still use the "Completed date" field and change it if you need to. I hope this helps!

Hi Lisa,
Are you saying the "Completed Date" field is now changeable? This entire thread is dedicated to complaining about the fact that it is not editable, and the suggested work-around is creating a custom date field called "Completed date" or "Actual Completion Date" and using that field instead.
Wrike's out-of-the-box Completed Date field is set when you select "Completed" or tick the "Completed" box from the Workflow, and as far as the users on this thread are aware, cannot be changed.
Please let us know if we're missing something.
Joseph Shuffield
Hey Joseph Shuffield, I'm sorry, what I meant was the "Due date".
