Add option to show task count for each day in Calendars
Interesting use case came up for one of our teams today. They're using a layered Calendar to view various marketing campaigns, as this view allows them to easily see what's running on any given day. But they'd also like to see a count of how many tasks are scheduled on each given day so they don't have to manually count the bars. We'd love to see an option added to the Calendar that allows you to toggle the task count on/off. Here's a simple (and admittedly ugly) mockup, to clarify what this team is looking for.
So far I haven't found any way to give them this day-by-day count, but am open to any ideas other Wrike users have for creative workarounds.
Thanks @... Unfortunately, Dashboards and Tables won't work for what the team is trying to do. They want a visual representation of which campaigns are running on any given day, over time. The calendar view is perfect for that, but just lacks the count of tasks per day.
Got it, thanks for clarifying Laura Boylan, I can totally see how this could be valuable! We've passed your feedback on to the team and will keep you posted on any updates here 👍

Hello Elaine,
has there been an update to being able to see number of tasks due on a certain date?
our team is looking for something similar to this feature as well.
let me elaborate on the specific use-case.
we created a calendar and filtered it so that it shows only the due dates for tasks.
This way the team/ department is able to visualize when everything is due throughout the year.
What ends up happening is that when there are 20 tasks due on one specific date x multiple times a year:
The calendar stretches indefinitely causing an eyesore for upper management when they need to review.
We would like to create a view that shows:
F.E:
Total Number of tasks. 20
Number of completed tasks. 15
Visually on calendar cell = 15/20 - or- 15 complete, 20 total.

Hi Lisa,
thanks for responding!
Let me provide a use-case scenario so that hopefully you can convince your team :).
For the person (usually an associate PM) that is working on Wrike, yes that function should be enough.
However, in an enterprise scenario, it is impossible to teach everyone in the company how to use wrike.
Further, upper management wants to be able to see everything at a glance and move on with their day.
Here's an example of a project I helped design for a different department:
**Please notice that this is in quarter view, and only the tasks for one person in April were imported.
Imagine if this was in month view,
if the tasks for all of Q2 were imported,
or even bigger,
all of the tasks from a department were imported.
Wrike is great for smaller groups, but for high level view of data, it is not always the best option.
All we Wrike users want is to be able to show the count for start data/ end date/ etc. to be displayed which should be a fairly simple code to write.
When working with larger data sets, any and all forms of interpretating data is appreciated.
And the simple interpretation is best.

Thank you for providing further detail here Stephen Lee! Could you tell me if you considered using Wrike reports for that? They could be shared with upper management easily. I'll share your use case with your Account team at Wrike and ask them to connect to walk you through the available options 🙂

Hello Lisa,
yes, we do use the report function along with custom fields to personalize our reports.
What we are asking for is to have more options to present data (other than a spreadsheet view).
Since a calendar view is similar to a dashboard/ chart, we are expressing our opinions on how having the option to have control of how data is presented on the calendar would fit our use cases.
Of course Stephen Lee, I understand! I was just trying to suggest some workarounds to help. The feedback in this thread has been sent to the team at Wrike responsible for Calendar view.
