Define custom columns in the board view

Hi

Is it possible to somehow customize the columns in the board view? I wasn't able to find such a possibility.

This would be great, because it would enable us to move off Trello for cases where the default Wrike board layout doesn't work.

The columns you see in boardview are the folder/project workflow statuses.

They can be customized: https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/articles/210322785-Custom-Statuses-and-Workflows

I figured this out.

  1. You have to create a workflow that will define your column headers. 
  2. Figure out what your board column requirements are.
  3. Create a new workflow ( See the link above )
  4. Right click on your project and select change workflow ( your new one should be visible in the drop down)

Once selected your board view will reflect the new column headers based on the workflow you created.

I still trust a customizing columns setup would be awesome,

  • such different status in the same colums
  • arranging the display order of the columns 
  • etc.

According to the Product team, they are interested in this suggestion, but there are currently no plans to add this to the short-term roadmap. I'll be sure to keep you posted on any new updates or information about this idea.

I'd like to echo this suggestion, we get this question all the time from team members who are used to Asana and Trello. It's probably our #1 hurdle to getting users on Wrike. Once they learn they have to create a custom workflow to use Board view the way they want, they decide to just keep using Asana/Trello.

Some more reasons the lack of custom Board columns is challenging:

  • Not everyone is an admin, and they don't have time to wait for someone to create custom workflows for them.
  • We would need lots of different board layouts, so creating a unique workflow for each of those clogs up our workflow menu and makes Wrike more frustrating for users.
