Open Task in Timeline View by clicking on the Task in the Dashboard view
I am working with a very large project plan. It is very useful to visually see all of the dependencies flowing in and out of a task as well as its neighbours and dependents. Currently, clicking on a task in the Dashboard (Board) view takes the user to the overall Timeline view, but does not show the user the exact task (only top-level roll-ups). The user then has to expand out the timeline and search for the task. A much improved functionality would have the user click on the task in the Dashboard view, and then be taken directly to that task in the Timeline view.
Hi Michael! Thanks a lot for contributing to the Product Feedback section and sharing your thoughts! I wanted to make sure we're on the same page about your request here. When you open a task on the Dashboard view, you're presented with a task details pane where you can click on the "Dependency" button to show all related to this task dependencies:
With this approach there's no need to expand or scroll through the Timeline. Does it look like something that will work for you?
