Add to project - then delete again - issue
If you have created a task in a certain folder or project, then you want to add that task to another folder or project (so it is the same task that is visible in both folders or projects): this works fine.
however, if you have added the wrong folder or project by mistake and you want to delete that erroneous project, you can no longer do this, you can only delete the original folder/project it was made in. How do I fix this?
Example:
- task created in folder A.1
- task then added to project X, located in folder Z
- want to delete task again from project X (because selected wrong project by mistake), can only delete folder A.1 (the original location)
Thank you for the help.
Hi Elyn, thanks for that example it helped me understand what was going on. It should be possible to remove the task from any Folder you've added it to. I just want to double check, to remove a task are you hovering over the tag (under the task title)? An 'x' should appear, and once you click that, the task is removed from the Folder. Let me know if you're seeing something else!
Hello Stephanie, thank you for your response. Indeed, I know how to remove allocated folders or projects, but that is the strange thing, I cannot delete that specific project from the task, even though it was added later.
I could upload you a screencast video to prove this, but this editing box doesn't support attachments I see, therefore a print screen of my issue:
I tried duplicating the task so I could delete this wrongly added one all together, but then I lose all my comments on this.
I'm afraid wrike is regarding the adding to a project as of higher importance than the fact that it was originally added to a folder.
However, the fact that I can no longer delete this is a bug in the programm I'm afraid. Please resolve this issue for me, as I now have a task in the wrong project, which is confusing for our team to work with.
Thank you
Hello, is there any news on this?
Thank you
Kr, Elyn
Hi Elyn, I'm sorry for the delay here. Are you adding the original task as a subtask to a task in the 1-2.Short ID Folder? I ask because it looks like the "Magnetic Ruler Pocket" Folder is being added as a ghost tag (which are the tags added to subtasks and can't be removed).
Hello Stephanie, indeed, I added it as a subtask, I've now dragged & dropped this task directly under the project and I could delete the project from the task now. Thank you for your help!
Kr, Elyn
Happy to hear that Elyn! Let me know if anything else comes up :)
Ah-ha! I am having the same problem, I'll try and see if this is the same solution.
Michael, just let us know if any further assistance is needed, we're here to help! :)
