Email Notifications on Created Tasks
Currently one section of email notifications is for: "For tasks assigned to me or created by me". Personally, there are lots of tasks that I have created that once I have created them I don't need to follow. However, for the tasks assigned to me, it's critical that I do receive these notifications. It would be really fantastic if this one section could be changed to two. I don't really need all of the options beneath (the specific types of change). I'd rather this section just be "Notify me of changes for: 1) Tasks I created, 2) Tasks assigned to me, 3) Other tasks I follow. How does everyone else feel about the current options?
Hi Emily, that's a great request and it does make sense! We recently had a request where other Community members were asking to separate @mention and assignment notification, and we recently released that feature. I'll make sure the Product Team working on email notifications sees your feedback on this too. :)
I also have a strong need for the ability to split out actions based on assigned to me compared to ones created by me. I routinely create tasks that I then hand off to someone else for management, and don't need to track those.
My additional request, though, is a way to differentiate between tasks created by me that I do want to follow versus not. It would be perfect if I could filter out based on specific projects, but in short: I don't want to get daily To-Do emails for ALL of the tasks created by me.
Some tasks I've created I do want to continue to monitor, but many others I don't want to monitor. Unfollowing or unsharing these tasks is apparently irrelevant because, even as a project owner who has handed off ownership to another person, my name is still embedded on those tasks and they remain shared with me. It's impossible to remove me completely. So I would be ok with one of two options: 1. Allow greater granularity on To-Do notification settings or 2. Allow for the ability to remove a task creator completely from a task, probably as part of transferring ownership. I had assumed that in handing off ownership, it would transfer down to the level of each task in the project, but apparently that is not the case.
In case anyone asks, the use case here was helping a teammate get up to speed in Wrike, by migrating their detailed Google Sheet-based plan into Wrike on their behalf. As an account administrator, this is a service I provide at times. This particular time it only impacted my daily To-Do email because dates were specified, and many tasks were overdue. As a result, my To-Do email never shows tasks I care about, it only shows them for the other project.
Hi Heather 👋 Such an interesting use case for a scenario I hadn't thought about! We're going to pass this feedback on to our Product team, but I wanted to discuss potential workarounds with you.
If you created a private Custom Field (something like "Monitor?), you could check that box for any tasks you did want to keep an eye on. You could then build a Report which shows all the tasks where you've checked the Monitor? field. You can get pretty granular with the Report, so that it only shows the tasks that you need to work on today/this week. The process is manual in that you need to check the field, but it may help! Let me know what you think.
I totally need this new feature.... I create many many tasks...
I imported tasks for a team so I am considered the creator of the tasks... As a result I keep receiving notifications for overdue tasks created by me that I'm unable to unsubscribe from. It would be perfect if I could update the emails to just tasks assigned to me &/or tasks that I follow.
I use Zapier integrations that create Wrike tasks, and because I have to connect with my account it automatically makes me the creator of those tasks and I end up getting notifications for all of them, even though none of them need to involve me personally. Perhaps there's another way for me to fix the zap so it doesn't make me the creator, or there might be a way to set up a company API key instead of one specific to me?
Regardless, having the ability to turn off notifications for "created by me" tasks would fix this problem for me.
Yes yes yes to the OP. I'm my companies lead project manager so I create hundreds of tasks and then pass them on. I only want to get notifications on the ones I'm assigned to.

Yes! I do not need notifications for the tasks I created but am not assigned to. Please separate them!

Our team uses blueprints for each project, I've recently updated those blueprints to provide guidelines to each task for our new business analysts and future ones alike. I helped a new BA with changing over one of their projects that just started to the new blueprints. As a Project Manager, I am not on this project but now I am receiving emails for every time one of these tasks get changed. Would be nice to opt out.

This feature should really needed also for our company. We manage large projects, with hundreds of tasks. Someday, because I created the project from the blueprint, I will receive 100 emails that I will move directly to the bin. Thanks
