Struggling with board view not showing tasks

Hi,

Our team is currently struggling to show tasks in one specific parent folder. (We have other folders in the team that are showing the tasks on board-views perfectly)

The jobs all show up in the list, table, timeline & workload views. I have checked for any filters we may have added on and checked that we are looking at and have access to the correct folders to be able to see the jobs and still they're not showing...

Thanks1

Hi Holly :) The Board View shows tasks from a particular workflow (only one workflow at a time) and I think maybe most of the tasks in the Folder are in one workflow, but the Board View is showing a different one.

To check, can you scroll to the far right-hand side of the view and click the toggle icon that appears to the right of the final status. You'll then be able to choose a workflow - try switching the workflow to the one that is being used for most tasks in the Folder. Can you let me know if that helps?

Hi Stephanie,

Thanks for the reply!  I have just checked and every task in the folder uses the same workflow as the board (I tried different workflows just to check and see if it might "refresh" the right view and it still did not show up :

Thanks
Holly

Hi Holly! Okay, one last question before we ask Support to step in and help. Are the tasks actually subtasks? Subtasks won't show up on the Board View by default. There is a workaround you can do to get them to appear though, you just need to turn their ghost tags into regular tags

Hi Stephanie,

They are all regular tasks, not sub tasks, and all sit in the same folder and are not ghost tagged. We tried different browsers, different users logging on and checking refreshing. We are all also using the most up to date version of our internet browsers.

This is only happening to one folder currently in our team, but another group of users are having intermitent problems that sound the same in other folders on our account.

I was on live chat earlier with someone called Anton who has said he had passed it over to engineers to look into as he looked into it and said he couldn't see any tasks either.  He did mention something about there being errors in the JavaScript Console when he looked at the board view in our account though.

Interestingly enough, the tasks show if we apply some filters, which isn't really ideal for our use :)

Thanks!

Got it! Okay, it looks like the ticket has been escalated internally and I'm following up with the team now. They'll follow up with you in the ticket and be able to help figure out what's going on. We'll try and get this resolved as quickly as possible. :)

Was this resolved? I also have the problem of tasks "going missing" when me or my team choose Board view instead of New Table view of our assigned tasks.

@Gunilla, hey, thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Community 🙂

This might happen when the Workflow was deleted by one of the account admins, or when you're trying to see subtasks in the Board View - they don't appear there, but there's a workaround for this.

If that's not the case, please let me know and I'll raise a Support ticket for you 👍

EDIT: I found the answer in another place. We had not configured the board to "Show Tasks from Subfolders". I'm leaving my comment below in case anyone else has this issue and comes to this thread via Google like I did.

---

We have this issue but it is not with subtasks or with a deleted workflow. We have switched the workflow a few times, but the tasks that do not show up on the board are the only two tasks that have been placed in the only folder in the project.

To start from the beginning: we created a project, created a new workflow for this project, created some tasks in the new workflow and some in the default workflow. We now want to stick with the default workflow, and the Board shows all of the tasks from the new workflow as "Other tasks" and all of the tasks from the default workflow in their normal Board columns (New, On Track, Caution, Behind, ...)

Then we created a folder within the project, added two tasks to it (all on the Default workflow), and those tasks do not appear on the board at all. Moving them out of the folder will make them appear on the board. How do we make sure that tasks that appear in the folder(s) will appear on the board?
