Merge subtasks back to Primary Task for easy asset downloads
Use Case > How to merge multiple approved design revisions from separate tickets to a single ticket for easy download
Current Flow:
1. Request form submission received from sales team with multiple assets ( 10+)
2. Assigned to Designer, Designer then creates subtasks from Primary Task of each design asset to manage separately as these are all different requests
3. Revisions begin
4. Revisions and Approvals are completed
5. Designer assigns to project manager
6. Project Manager must go in to each subtask and then download
Queries:
Is there a way to host all of the assets either on the Primary Task page and share them with a subtask?
Is there a way to merge subtasks + all its attachments and assets back to a single task? For example, once approved, each subtask asset can be moved back to primary task for easy download option
Hello Jamie!
Thank you for taking the time to explain your use case in detail, it is certainly a good one. At the moment there is no way to merge a subtask with its parent task or cross-reference attachments on multiple tasks. An attachment is linked to a specific Task/Folder/Project. To move a file to a different location you can download it and then upload to the new task. One thing that can save you some time is the 'Download all' option in case there is more than one asset in a task:
In any case, this is a very good idea, I encourage you to share your thoughts on what would the perfect workflow for this use-case in our Product Feedback section. Our Product Managers frequently check and monitor it, so it would be great to see your ideas there.
