Include Parent Tasks Names in reports even if the parent task is not included in the selected tags/folders

In reports, I'd still like to know the parent task's name even if the parent task lies outside the folders/tags I am reporting on.

We use the copy task feature for redundant tasks. Many times these tasks have sub-tasks. The sub-tasks lie in many different folders/tags. If I run a report on, let's say, the EMAIL folder, I'd like to know that the an EMAIL TARGET CONTACTS task is a task that related to its parent, let's say, PRODUCT RELEASE X

PRODUCT RELEASE X task is not in the email folder, because it spans a broader scope than just emails. When I run my report on the EMAIL folder, the Task column says EMAIL TARGET CONTACTS, where as the Parent Task column is blank.

The clone task helps us be more efficient by not having to create reoccurring tasks. However, the efficiency is negated when we have to append each task name with its parent's name (needed to show on reports.)

Thank you,
David

Hi David, thank you for posting this idea! This is really interesting. Do you see this as a separate column in Reports, like the "Parent Folder" column, but for "Parent Task"? Let me know if I got that right!

Anastasia,

I think that would work fine: a separate column for the parent task, if there is one.

Also, I'd also like to see the parent task in views LIKE THIS much like it is HERE

Thank you,
David

I agree with David as well. This would eliminate the issue of not have a pretext option when duplicating tasks. Great idea!!

I also agree and would be great to find an elegant way of doing this in the Daily Digest and in the dashboards. I have missed in a few more situations but I cannot recall them now.

Hi guys, quick update related to this for Wrike task Reports.

We have released Structured (Hierarchical) display in task Reports. Now you can see Folder, Project and Tasks in one Report, like you do in Table view: subtasks under their parent tasks, parent tasks under Folders or Projects they are tagged with.

You can read more about this and give your feedback here 👍

Any updates on this?

Stephen's update above is on the right track but it doesn't address the needed visibility / grouping based on parent-child task relationships.

Checking for updates on this request. It would be very beneficial to have the parent title information in reports - especially Task Reports. Vendors can not understand which task belongs to which title when multiple tasks are assigned to them which are the same, but under different titles. Adding in a prefix is long and messy, and we have too many tasks to tidy up with the titles.
