"Day at a Glance" Widget for Dashboard

We used to use Bxxecxxp and I had a widget (10 oz. Time Tracker) that let me immediately see my time spent on any project with a running total for the day right on the bottom. This allowed me to look at my time at the end of the day and see if I may have forgotten to log something (or if I had been lazy that day).

I can achieve this now by doing a Timelog for all projects filtered for me and then limiting it to today's date. That is a lot of clicks, and if there are any projects with a timer running, they don't show up.

What I am envisioning is a pre-made Widget in the Dashboard called something like "Day at a Glance" that would let me look at my personal time log across all projects with one click on my dashboard. At the end of the day I can see I have spent 7.5 hours on tasks and the tasks are listed (just like the Timelog looks now).

Then when I open that dashboard widget tomorrow, it will have reset itself at midnight and show me my running total for the current day.

A bonus would be to have an arrow that would let you move back to the previous day.

Hi Roger, thank you creating a post for this idea! As I mentioned, I think widgets are great, and this is a really interesting way of combining them with the Time Tracking functionality.

I really like this idea--I'm always having to remember where to find the time log in the first place, then click, click, click just to see my time.

This widget would be widely used by my team!  Please add.

Great idea. I totally agree! Today's options are too cumbersome. Another idea is to add a time tracker to the left of the profile pictures. By klicking you ca switch between this day, this week, this month.

Moreover the current set up is a bit critical. In many companies the data on employees' working hours must be treated confidentially and protected against unauthorized access. Now, everybody can see hours of everyone.

Thanks for all your input on this 👍

I wanted to suggest this possible option: Creating Timelog Report with the Reports Builder. Since you want to see time tracked across all projects I would check the box next to all Folders/Projects in the "Source data" column, then in the "Filters" column filter for yourself and "today" (you can set up a daily/weekly report as well).

It would great to read your thoughts on this solution so please post back here.

The feedback here has been passed to our Product Team so your continued votes and input are valuable to the internal discussions. Thanks!

I was able to create the report as you described, but it still only shows what has been entered after clicking "Add Entry" and putting it in the Timelog. I often work on the same project multiple times in a day. I might answer customer emails in the morning and then again in the afternoon. I just pause the timer and then at the end of the day I add all of the entries. So as the list appears, I have to manually add up the times (which is good for my brain) to see how much I have logged for the day. If there was a line at the bottom of the dropdown window where I can see my active time entries, that would also be a help. So in the inmage below, if there was a calculation that said "0:39 Time Today" it would let me see my time spent today in an instant, rather than logging all of my projects and them opening a report and waiting for the reprt to populate.
ful solution. So in the image attached, I can see the time I have worked today with the items on pause, but a line below them that totaled my time spent today would help me quickly see that I forgot to add that hour-long meeting if I only have 6 hours totaled for the day

I completely understand now (thank you) and I really like this idea of a type of realtime total! It's not something on the developer's roadmap but it's something we will make them aware of. Thanks for posting here for others to discuss and vote Roger!

I am the CFO and I have to continually nag my staff to update their project times - this is critical to the profitability of our jobs.

If we could have a simple widget for each person's dashboard showing timelog entries for the day/week/month it would be great.

I chose Wrike over other programs specifically for the timelog feature - had I known just how limited this feature was _ I think I would have reconsidered my choice :(
