Real Time Notifications
Wrike utilizes a time delay notification system that holds notifications for a small period of time (they say 6 minutes although our team has had to wait up to 25 minutes for notifications to come in) to account for "human error."
While I understand the rationale behind this, it prevents our teams from being able to work in real time with each other. We are having to utilize other channels which then pulls files and important conversations off of Wrike where they should be housed for historical/versioning purposes.
We really would like to at least an option for real time notifications implemented for more efficient real time working. With so many notification options, it seems like a miss to not have this as a choice. Our teams work across many different brands, clients, and spaces and cannot simply wait within a job and watch notifications come in.
Has anyone else found a solve for real time working in Wrike despite notification delays?
I agree with this. While the justification for delaying notifications is sound in theory, it results in overlapping notifications (via the app, any chat channels someone may be using, and one's email program, for instance). Conversations may have been resolved in under 5 minutes (because we live in an immediate world), but then a minute later, you'll get a notification that goes back in time. It would be less disruptive if notifications were ALL instant.
One of the reasons for implementing this 6-minute rule is so that people are not swamped by notifications when a document is being marked up for revisions. The solution to this is simple. Don't send notifications for every markup. Wait until the reviewer is finished, and have them click some kind of "submit" button, which then sends a notification that markup has been completed.

The wait period for the notifications is indeed 6 minutes, if your experience is different, I'd advise you to reach out to our Support team at firstname.lastname@example.org so that they could investigate.
As for the other suggestions that you posted here - I can see that they've got a considerable amount of support already (12 upvotes in a couple of days!), so I hope it will keep going like that, and once it gets 60 upvotes, our product team will add a status to it 🙂

At the most basic level, admins should be able to set that interval. If we want immediate notifications, that system setting can be set to a wait time of zero — if not, set it to however many minutes you want the system to wait. I'm sure there are companies out there that would like to wait even longer than 6 minutes — unfortunately, we work in an environment where near-real time project communication is critical. And when people are jumping outside of Wrike to Slack to say "hey, check Wrike", there's something really wrong with that.
The delay is frequently greater than 6 minutes. See attached for proof of a 14 minute delay.
Appreciate your feedback here but as Ken showed above and I show below, there is a larger than 6 minute discrepancy. I have already reached out to our account team who has mentioned that there isn't anything that can be done. If this isn't the case, let me know! I'd love to get the long wait times reduced in any way possible.
We also have longer delays than 6 minutes sometimes, but we have a lot of people here who would just rather not get the emails at all and have all of the notifications go into their Wrike Inbox. Why should people who have their whole workflow live in Wrike need to monitor any other communication medium to find out that a task or project was updated?
I don't disagree with that Sarah. That may be the most practical way to make Wrike effective. But the reality is, companies use other channels of communication, sometimes primarily. Every other form of communication we use at our company works a lot better than Wrike. I'd prefer not to rely on this platform for my entire workflow, because of it's lack of basic functionality and common sense UX & UI design.
So, the reality is that Wrike is integrated with other platforms. And the way it's integrated can be described as "badly, but soooo easy to fix!"
I don't disagree with you either, Sarah! Unfortunately, as a Project Manager, I need to have visibility on everything and currently the only place to get that visibility is email notifications. The Inbox only currently notifies you when you've been directly impacted. The email notifications works as a broader tool and serves as a catch all.
What it really comes down to is that the it's a functionality that is offered but simply doesn't work. Since this is the case, and there are people that need it like me, there needs to be a solve. Whether it's addressing the notification timing or a broader expansion of the Inbox within the platform.
It's also important for me to add that I have been experiencing what I'd describe as "ghost notifications" within the platform where notifications pop up but then disappear and never show up in the platform. This makes the email notifications especially critical for me.
Katherine, I hear you, and as a Project Manager I also utilize multiple mediums for communication (Wrike, email, and instant messaging), but I would so much rather get all of my Wrike notifications through the Wrike Inbox, rather than in my email. I'm not saying that I don't want the notifications, I am saying that I want the platform to be better about actually notifying you about all activity that you follow in your Wrike Inbox, rather than needing to send out emails in order to reliably capture that something happened.
