Custom Fields notifications after update
Is there anyway where if we used a custom field, that a notification would be sent so that people on the task know it's been updated. It really is only half useful because no one will be notified when that field has been updated.
Thanks,
Jeremy Hudson
I agree with this.
A custom field is part of the task or project information likely any other and is typically key data that is likely to be tracked in Dashboards and Reports, but doesn't create any notifications email, Wrike inbox when modified, they should, particularly for people who are assigned, who created the task or who is assigned as the Project Owner.
it will be interesting to see the information in the comments. Like the one used for description update. Date + who.
"The custom fields were updated."
Better "the custom field xxx is updated"
There also needs to be an audit trail of changes to custom fields, by whom and when it was changed.
@All
Not exactly what is requested here but I thought you all might be interested in the new history feature now available on Custom Fields 👍
Since last message here was over a year ago, Trying my luck to see if there is any progress on this one.
Sure would be handy to have a notification once a custom field is updated.
Hi Ben Levitan, we don't have any further updates on this at the moment, but if that changes we'll be sure to let you know 👍

If there is no ability to manage security at the field level (like make a particular field read only to specific users, for example) then a feature such as this is very important. I would like to know if someone changes a custom field so we can determine the reason of the change and if it is entirely necessary.
Example scenario:
If I am creating a field for baseline date and another custom field with an indicator to show if we are ahead or behind schedule (I know we can do snapshots but I want this to look at multiple project's baselines at once)......
I only want the PMs or managers to be able to update those fields but would like others to see it for awareness. Others within the team with more than limited and collaborator access should not have the ability to change those dates. So, options would be -
I'm a bit surprised that there are not more people asking for features such as these since it seems like basic functionality that should be available. I'd love to hear other's viewpoints and hopefully get this pushed to the Wrike product team.
Hey Brittany Ayers, thank you for this use case! It's been passed on to the Product team.
I don't have an update about the status of this suggestion at the moment, but as soon as I do, I'll let you know 😊
Also looking for this feature. We are adding a lot of financial information to a large number of projects and it's too manual at the moment to keep track of every custom field change on specific fields. It would be great it this could be a report or tracked more visibly than at the individual custom field level. Even just a red dot or some notification in the cell that it's been updated since last viewed in Report or Table view.
Thank you for this feedback, Geoff Weston! It's been passed on to the Product team.
Add me to the list of people that need this functionality! This is slowing down our reporting where we need to manually check for updates to custom fields. Thanks!
Welcome to the Community, Sarah Hine! Thank you for sharing your feedback about this. If there are any changes, I'll be sure to let you know.
Any updates to the possibility of adding custom field update notifications/alerts to your road map?
Hi Jaimee Cadamartori, welcome back to the forums 👋
Thank you for bumping this thread! I don't have an update as this is not on the team's immediate plans, but your feedback is logged and sent to our Product team 👍
Please let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.
