Ability to view the "age" of a project/task/folder
I had submitted this to the support desk, and they recommended I post it here!
I'm trying to visualize our project-level data into a report, where we can see how many days a project has been open for. I have the created date column present, but is there a way to make a custom field saying, for example:
Created date = 7/18/2017 (yesterday)
Custom field Age = 1
For one day old?
Basically, creating a value of [Created Date] - [Today's Date] = VALUE.
Thanks!
Hi there, Mitch! Thanks for taking the time to write this idea up. One question I had was about the use case for this. Is the end goal to track whether a Project is taking longer than planned?
Hey Anastasia,
Thanks for the reply. Yes, that's exactly it - today we use a spreadsheet to flag deployments that are above X days open, and having that in Wrike in some way, shape or form would be very useful.
Thanks!
Mitch, thanks for confirming that! I know this won't show the actual age, but wondering if in the meantime it could help to set a due date (which would be the date when the task hits "X days open"), and then report on overdue tasks?
I've been trying to run a report for bug tracking where I can see what percentage of the time we're hitting our 5 day max OKR. I created a report to show me start date, end date, complete date and duration, but the duration only tells me the difference between start date and end date, instead of updating the duration with completion date or having an extra column option for this (actual task age) which would seem like pretty logical for a report like this/ any report.
What I want to know if the scheduled date was actually the date that the task was completed. This applies to a million other cases and the baseline chart doesn't really cover this in a thorough way. I also don't want to download the report and do the rest of the calculations in excel (which is what I'm having to do now) - it seems to me like a functionality that should be in Wrike from the get go.
@Catalina hey hey! That makes sense, I thought that we had an existing request for this but I might be imaging it because it's not coming up in search. If I do see it I'll mention you on a thread you're involved in so that you can upvote it.
We would like to see this feature as well. Is there any update on development?
Hello, is the aging feature available?
Hi Arch Thirumurthy, welcome to the forums 👋
If you're referring to custom fields specifically, we have introduced custom field history which allows you to see how custom field values in tasks, folders, and projects change over time. Could you let me know if that works for you?

Hey Lisa, does Wrike have formula in years?
Hi Nikki Fernandez, welcome to the forums! 🙂
There's no formula in years available in custom fields, but it's still possible to show the "age" of an item - you can create a formula like [Created date] - TODAY () and you'll get the number of days the item exists:
Can this help?
