[Status: Backburner ⌛️] Email Notifications - Removal of OR from options

We are finding it really tedious to manage email notifications. I would like to suggest the removal of the OR's in the email preferences.

For example, a small number of people in the company develop the majority of the complex construction schedules, and most of the tasks are NOT assigned to the creators. I would like notifications for tasks I am assigned but I do not want to see all that relates to what I created.

Another example - is people are interested in files being uploaded but they don't really cares if a task description changes.

Being unable to select the very specific wants for an email notification means you are bombarded with unwanted information. I've highlighted below the various items I think should be independent selections.

I think more flexibility in the email notifications - whether to email or Wrike inbox would be very useful. We've switched most of ours off because you end up duplicating work.

It would also be incredibly useful to NOT get a notification for a recurring task. We use the recurring task feature A LOT and it just gets tedious having to deal with the notifications in the inbox. We know the task is there because it's on our dashboard! However, I get some users may like this - so again an on/off feature would be great.

I can see that there are 59 votes at the moment, which is great! It would be even more informative for our Product team if we could have more examples and use-cases from the Community members, so please don't hesitate to comment!

As a case for splitting apart Date, Assignee, and Status changes, followers of a project likely won't care who exactly is working on it, just that it remains on track (the due date doesn't get pushed back). Depending on the workflow used, they may not even care about status changes.

Similar arguments can be applied to the other options as well. I may not care about additional details being added to a project, but maybe I do care if detail is removed from the project instead of cancelled or archived. Or, it could be the other way: I need to monitor a folder for new work and don't care if something is ever removed from the folder.

Having these groups in each option forces the user to have to choose between hearing too little and hearing too much. They can't choose to get exactly what they need to hear.

I know one extra type of emails doesn't seem like too much more, but if I receive a set of emails that I don't care about, I start a habit of ignoring them. The real problem comes in that the emails I'm ignoring are quite similar to other emails that I should be tracking. Instead of being able to blindly ignore the emails I don't care about, I have to sift through each of the similar emails to see if I should care about this one or not, which takes time I could be using to actually do something instead of just monitor what's happening. I'm a person that will choose to hear too much and sift through everything, but there are others that will choose to hear too little and miss important changes.

@lisa backburner status is pretty disappointing, we cant win over our companies executive team if they are constantly annoyed by your product due to unnecessary emails.

It's great to be able to have some control over email settings, but what I wish Wrike had is more ability to turn down the number of inbox notifications that a person receives.  Our typical project has about 250 tasks, and when we create it from a blueprint, Wrike drives everyone crazy with the number of notifications that it emits.

Thanks, Hugh.  Setting the parameters for email isn't terribly helpful when the stuff you have asked not to receive emails on shows up in your Wrike inbox.  The real need here is to have some control over the type of information that you receive and this requires control over both your email and Wrike inbox.
