[Status: Backburner ⌛️]US date format when filling in a request form from the public link

Hello,

We are having an issue with dates. When an external client uses the public link for a request form it defaults to the US mm/dd/yy date format, we use dd/mm/yy in New Zealand. When the Request form comes to my inbox the date is in the correct format, but the confirmation email my client gets is still in mm/dd/yy US format which can be very confusing.

Also, the calendar interface in the request form is terrible. It is very hard to tell which month you are in as it always shows the current date or the last date clicked on in the blue box. It should surely have the current month you are scrolling through displayed!

Both of these issues have lead to complaints from clients, and a reluctance to use the request form by them.

Any way to fix these problems? Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with Wrike.

Thanks,

Michael

Hi Michael, happy to hear you're happy 🙂

Your feedback on the calendar is something we will pass on to our Product Team to review. Request forms are something that's being discussed internally so this feedback is very useful, thank you!

I'd like our Support Team to investigate the date format in the Request forms a little further. I've raised a ticket for you now and the team will get back to you by email soon.

If there's anything else in the meantime, let me know!

As an Australian customer, we are also having difficulty with the US-style date format.

Both from a customer perspective, but more importantly when the briefing form/request form comes into the system, it just has a deadline of 01/05/2019 which the Project Manager would read as being May 1. This has already caused issues with clients. :/

Thanks

Michelle

Hi guys, our development team are aware of this and are looking into it. I've raised it with them and made them aware of this issue. I'll report back here when I have an update 👍

Hi there, we are finding the same issue having just implemented Wrike in the UK and using their request forms to kick start all projects.  The dates in US format are very confusing so it would be great if there was the option of having these in UK format DD/MM/YY!

Thanks

It would be amazing if you had the option to decide the date format in your account settings!

Hi all, just to clarify, you can change the date format for your actual account.

This request is specific to Request Forms. I've updated the post title with a status of Backburner, this means the team has added to the list of things they'd like to do but are unable to specify a date until current enhancements they're working on are completed. You can learn more about Product Feedback statuses.

Once I have a new status or any updates I'll post back here 👍

Thank you Stephen!!

I was referring to within the request form when you are mapping a date to the title of your project/task. If we could change this setting it would be amazing. Currently mine is mapping as YYYY-MM-DD

It's certainly something the Product Team have mentioned numerous times so it's on their radar, but not on a definite plan right now. When I have more information regarding dates etc. I'll update you here.

For everyone else, please vote for the original comment above if you're interested in this idea so our team has a better understanding of its popularity. Thank you!

We're impacted by the same issue, it would be great for the format of the date on the request form to match that of the account,

Thanks,

Anne

We too are negatively impacted by not being able to change the date format for requests.  It would be great to allow the Wrike client to select the date format that works best for them.  Thank you for considering the opportunity,

Fred

Hi all, currently this idea is backlogged. Until, at least, the team are reviewing the Request backend at a later date.

I will keep you up to date on any new developments. In the meantime, keep voting on the original idea and posting your use-cases. Thanks!

For us in The Netherlands we are also struggling with the wrong date notification. Should be the best if the date will state as configured in the settings.

Although it's far from being a deal-breaker, the YYYY-MM-DD date format for requests is a constant source of irritation and confusion. Would be good to see this addressed in the near future.

We are using the request forms publicly and getting this date format sorted is important to us.

We'd also like to see this function added.

Am going to echo the feedback for this suggestion. We've already changed the date format for our account to DD/MM/YYYY but the fact that we can't change the format on the request forms is a real pain.

I can't believe this hasn't been looked at after all this time. Is there any update on the request form mirroring the settings in the users account please? So to show as DD/MM/YYYY and not in the US format.

Yet ANOTHER wrike bug that has been on the radar for 5 years.

Seriously Wrike - you're either an international vendor or you aren't.

You spend time making stupid changes that are more annoying than helpful - yet this BASIC functionality is ignored for 5 years!

Not good enough. Seriously.

Another unsatisfied Australian customer

How do we upvote this? We are in the U.S. and date formats from internal/external forms come in DD-MM-YYYY, we should have the option of MM-DD-YYYY or DD-MM-YYYY or whatever the user wants. This thread was opened back in 2017 requesting this option.
