[Status: Not Planned] Request forms data export

It'd be useful to be able to export fields created within a request form. Currently task description is exported via xls in one cell which makes it difficult to view, track and analyze gathered data.  Task descriptions should be exported in columns corresponding to fields created in request form.

Hi Elena! That sounds interesting, it would be great to learn a bit more about the Requests you would use this with. As I understand, your processes require a certain amount of data to be exported in bulk and condensed in a spreadsheet?

This is a huge flaw in the utility of requests. This feature is needed ASAP.

This is a great idea! We have a form that requires a lot of information and it would be great if we could create a new row in a spreadsheet every time the form is submitted. As Elena said, the export function doesn't provide all of the details supplied which can be a bit frustrating.

I agree this is a great idea. As a work around we had to create a custom field in a task to be able to report in more detail. However, when it comes in from a request the person has to update the custom field which is as much duplicate work as it would be to make the update in the exported details. Being able to take items in the request forms and update a custom field would be helpful.

I agree. I want an initial form to drive the creation of the project and then at points during the project we need to use this data to export to vendors to get quotes. I don't want to keep creating data, Basically ask the requester for the information in the beginning as to what is needed as the final project goal, then export this data to provide to vendors to get quotes and then add their information provided back into the project.

Agree great feature, but would like to export to Word as well so we can actually smooth and create documents for specifications.

Hi There Everyone,

I too am looking for similar enhancement, but aside from just a data dump, the ability to use the report creator to create a report from a specific request form. Currently I believe I can do a work around where I create the custom fields within the task to reflect the form responses, that then would have to be updated with each request, and from there generate a report based on these tasks and include the custom fields in the report. 

As you can imagine, this is quite a workaround, and it would be amazing if we could generate reports based on the forms themselves.

Would love to hear back on this.

Hi! I was just talking with my team about how this would be a useful feature!

We use the form for publication/custom design requests to our in-house printing press, they in turn bill back postage and labor hours to specific departments and we use tasks to execute/track the project. However, it would be amazingly helpful to export the request submissions for easier billing and ignore all the back and forth reviews and chatting that happens at the project/task level. 

Hope this feature gets on the product roadmap!

I concur with this request for exporting / reports based on Request form data.  

We are contemplating using Wrike as a ticketing system that would drive specific tasks along with the resources to complete those tasks.

During the request process, specific data will be entered which if reportable / exportable would allow detailed assessment / analysis.

Agree. This is an important feature and should be implemented ASAP. It is very weird that all the data captured via the request form are listed in the tasks as continuous texts and not as separate form fields with value as submitted by the requester.

I also agree that this is a very important feature.   Our organization is trying to get everyone to buy in to Wrike, but when it is lacking features that are available in Google Forms, it can be a hard sell.   Yes, it's great having the ability to create request forms in Wrike and to create a project in a specific folder for completed requests.  But it is also imperative that we can not just complete individual requests, but also report on all of those requests as a whole (ex., of the people who submitted a request to create a new report, how many needed the output in excel format, or how many different departments made requests, or how many requested a scheduled and/or bursted report, etc.   With a simple Google form you can get that information easily.    And, yes, if the aggregate data from request forms was available in a spreadsheet, or csv file we might actually be able to import it into our administrative system and run a batch process to actually fulfill the submitted requests.

I cannot agree more than everyone above.  This is very important for us as well.  We have customers fill out info forms on a daily basis and have a team of people assigned to mining the data manually to place it into Excel.  As this was originally posted in 2017, should we assume that this feature is not on the roadmap?  What is the likelihood of implementation?  If Wrike will not do it, it may be best for us to find a form solution in another application.

Agree that this is very important for our reporting purposes as we want to make our reporting as automatic as possible and to be able to make reports based on the fields on the request forms is absolutely necessary.

This is a great feature request and cant believe this hasn't been implemented yet. It's been 2 years since OP created this. Fully agree with what everyone here has been saying.

 

Its funny that the requirement is 60 upvotes to be considered, seems like an arbitrary number. 🤷

Any update on this?  Inability to cleanly export text from a task is a huge reason I cannot use Wrike exclusively to manage projects.  It is so messy I end up having to keep track of info in an Excel doc.!

Hi fellow posters! I too really want this functionality. I sent this post to my colleagues who also use Wrike and want this functionality and asked them to up vote it. It would be great if others could do the same as getting 60 upvotes (the little plus sign underneath the original post) seems to be key to getting something on the Wrike development roadmap! We are so close at 40. Hopefully we get to 60 soon!
