[Status: Backburner ⌛️] Task Reminder via Wrike E-Mail Notification
It would be awesome to be able to right-click on a task (or sub-task) - or use a menu option - to tell Wrike to send a reminder at a certain date/time to selected team members.
Let's say I have a task that is assigned to me, but I am waiting on a response from a vendor. I want a reminder (via Wrike e-mail notification with a link to the task) to trigger me to follow up with that vendor to see where things stand. I don't want to have to add any additional tasks in the project as a reminder task or manually add a reminder to my calendar in Outlook - that's just clunky.
I have used the iCal sync, but when I try to set a reminder on the item in the calendar in Outlook, I get an error that the folder does not support reminders and that the calendar is read-only, so I can't set a reminder anyway.
Other tools, under consideration by my team, have this feature and it's been useful in our testing while we are in the PM tool selection process.
@Gabriella Completely understand wanting this option. They're workarounds, but wanted to share two cases of existing functionality that may help:
Again, I know these are workarounds, but hoping they help you or someone else reading this thread.
Voting for this as well. Would like to use Wrike as my sole app for project related matters, and really do not want to use another app for reminders like I am having to do now.
Dear developers, please add a reminder functionality in time (push and mail). You will gain a competitive advantage and increase the number of users. This is not a difficult task, which many people ask of you.
I do not want to use two programs for my affairs, so for now I prefer to stay in the Todoist with a wonderful functionality of alerts and they have a year of money as you have one month
What happened to the Inbox Reminder beta function? I can't find it in Wrike Labs. Integrating with Outlook did not work. Also, please geeeeeettttt reeemmmiiiiiiiiinnnddddeeerrrssss!!!!!
Thank you
Hi Logan, as Stephanie linked above the Inbox function for a reminder is still there, it's changed a little and it now a Snooze function - check it out.
@all, thanks for your feedback on this. The Product Team are aware of this post and we'll update here if and when we have more information 👍
Keep voting and providing use cases where possible! 🙂
From a personal productivity point of view, I would like a task reminder like Wunderlist. Also, I see the need to follow up and remind others you have delegated tasks to.
When can Wrike have both please?
I too would like to see a task reminder feature. This was requested well over a year ago and still hasn't been implemented.
Add me to the list of people who would really appreciate the ability to create Task reminders from inside Wrike, which we could create either at the time we crate the Task, or by going in later and editing the Task. (Again, all from within Wrike, rather than through integration with calendars in Google or Outlook).
I would really appreciate a reminder function - either for emails or for desktop/browser reminders.
It could be neat to be able to set up reminders for all who are assigned to a task, as well as just individual reminders for oneself.
In all honesty, I don't understand how such a basic feature isn't available.
Mads.
Snooze function is now there - but very poor.
Not enough options in terms of time.
Also you can only create the reminder once the task is in the inbox. sometimes you want a preemptive reminder to do / undertake something.
We are also looking for the ability to schedule reminders for a task. Integration with outlook for these reminders would be a bonus.
Thanks @Stephen Orowe.
I tested the snooze function, but the problem is that it doesn't re-send the email reminder. It only works if the whole team is working out of Wrike inbox, which, frankly, will never happen for our team. Right now people have to set their own reminders in Outlook, which seems to make Wrike obsolete for one of the most important functions of project management: notification of an upcoming deadline.
Thanks
People are busy; really, really, really, busy. A smart task reminder/notification is necessary - Particularly valuable during the vital adoption phase, and, a fundamental feature IMO. ...Upon assigning a task: Start reminding assignees of tasks due X time before due, every X time until complete. Thanks!
Hello, I am currently trialing Wrike and I must say I really like what I see so far. But not being able to set reminders is a huge negative and may steer me away from implementing Wrike with our team. When will this feature likely be rolled out?
Hello Wrike team,
Any updates on the reminder feature request? We have been using Wrike for several years. Not being able to set reminders limits how effectively our team can use Wrike!
Best regards
@Jim @Guilford We recently added the "not planned" status to this request. You can read more about the different status options and what they mean here. Unfortunately, in this case, it means that we aren't currently planning on releasing this functionality (not that it couldn't happen in the future, just that it isn't in immediate plans). If that changes, we'll make sure to update the thread's status here!
That's too bad there isn't more interest from the product team to add task reminder notifications in Wrike.
I'd go a step further than that. It's a little shocking - and definitely disappointing - that Wrike refuses to add this capability to their platform. Setting reminders is a feature that's commonly requested by people who use Task Management programs (Wrike or others). And Wrike's customer base is screaming for it. I'm not sure what the rationale is for Wrike's defiance. If there's some technical / software / programming reason why it can't be implemented at this stage of Wrike's existence, then at a minimum, Wrike owes us that explanation. Absent that, a lot of people will make the assumption that Wrike simply doesn't care what its customers want.
Why can’t Wrike deliver what its customers want? My team had so much excitement over the easy-to-use UI that I haven’t been able to reel them in on our searches for other products. It’s truly a shame that it appears to be no attention to what’s truly needed; at least you can now set a cute background to distract you from the fact that the product doesn’t fully function.
I have so much passion for project management and how teams are the most effective when they are enabled to collaborate in a way that drives performance.
Hi Megan,
I fully agree that the release of customizing the background seem to be some strange priority
Would also have preferred an option to keep the tags/folders during a copy of a project over the background
and of course also the reminder option
+ This functionality should def be added in Wrike.
I started using Wrike this week. Loved it. As many users I expected a feature wherein a task can send auto reminders to assignee. I stumbled on this forum looking for answer and it is disappointing that even after 2 years of this thread, the feature is still not available.
I'll add to the disappointment over this not being scheduled for implementation despite the amount of support it has. I actually ended up on this thread because, much like Pritam, I thought I just needed to know how to implement this function. There seem to be a few key features such as this that we keep running up against in Wrike as our team really concentrates on implementing it in a real way. Being able to set custom reminders especially for tasks/projects that we need to check up on (waiting on client feedback, etc) without leaving wrike or having to make new, rolling tasks that can end up confusing and cluttering up things would be amazing.
I agree with you Sarah and its why I'm looking elsewhere for a solution
Adding my voice here: need to have task reminders. Why? I often get requests from other departments to do work that can't be done until months from now, and I have no viable option to show these others that the task is there, waiting for me to do it. And that I will be reminded by the system to do it. I am surprised and disappointed that this functionality isn't even _planned_! Why is adding this functionality so difficult?
+1
So much needed... it's turning essential in fact to me work...
Thank you
It would be super helpful to have a reminder feature even if it's just within the desktop app
I see this was changed to "backburner" status instead of "unplanned". Not real sure how to interpret this and it would be helpful to know the priority level or timeline associated with feature requests.
We need a feature that will allow us to recieve reminders for tasks based on start dates and due dates. Currently, wrike is a black hole for reminders. Since email is so easy to snooze these days, an email reminder can be easily manipulated by an email client like Spark or Gmail. We would like to recieve reminders the same way one would recieve them on Goog
We need to recieve reminders via email similar to recieving email reminders on google calendar. Please add time support to the date field and allow us to set default offsets for reminders based on any date field in wrike. Furthermore allow us to edit these reminders at the parent task and folder level to override the defaults. But, anytime I assign or get assigned work, I want to know that the assigned party will be reminded to start or complete the work.
Our use case in real estate could be anything from a home inspection to a follow up call. Next to lead and lag times, this is our most important feature request since we have so many tasks falling through the cracks. If anyone remembers Cohuman before it was bought and slain, it was incredible at doing this. It forced everyone involved to be in the loop as it would even keep followers updated on tasks over email with regard to their start and due dates.
