Autopopulate
Is there a way to add a autopopulate feature when you are in the table view like in Excel? More specifically, when we have toadd the same information down an entire column, in excel you can drag the first cell down and it autopopulates the same date all the way down.
Hi again, Magda! Thank you for sharing your feedback about this view. At the moment it isn't possible to autopopulate Custom Fields in the Table View, and it's great to learn about the improvements you'd like to see as we continue to work on enhancing the product functionality. If you need to update default task attributes in bulk, I recommend taking a look at the Mass Editing feature. With Mass Editing, you can select all tasks in the List View and change attributes such as assignees, dates, statuses, and Folders. Thank you again for sharing your ideas!
Thank you this was really helpful as I wasn't aware of this mass editing feature however it would be great to eventually gain the ability to auto populate the same information through multiple cells in table view.
...Another question on this...
Is there a way in the setup for example, when we select the template in Salesforce, it asks us who to assign tasks to so we pick one person and it assigns all those tasks in bulk to that one person. Are there other custom fields that could be created there to attach the same information to all the tasks which would come through to view in the table layout? Hope that makes sense.
Magda, I'm glad that helped! Custom Fields and mass updates aren't currently supported in the Salesforce integration. It would be great to see this as a separate post in the Product Feedback section, so that other users could easily find and upvote it too :)
will do thanks.
I see a benefit to this as well! I would love to be able to mass-edit various custom fields across multiple projects from a table view!
I would appreciate a functionality where a custom field value could carry down to everything below it in the hierarchy. For example, if I have a project custom field marked as "Type X", then I'd like to be able to pull reports and do analysis on the tasks and subprojects based on whether they were done for that type of project.
Because of the number of tasks we have in each project, and the number of different project types, it would be difficult for us to mass update all the tasks individually, and within one project they would all have the same value.
