Use Automation Rule to let user know their review is over due

Since the approval dates for tasks can't be pulled into reports or dashboards, I'm currently having to go through and open up all open review tasks and manually check the approval due dates. I then have to populate an excel document for each reviewer with the task name, link, and approval due date to help them prioritize. 

In the automation engine, there is currently a trigger option of "If the date in the field meets a condition..." but it doesn't list the approval date as an option.

Is it possible to update the automation engine to be able to select the approval date?
